January 2012 Sleevers!

Recommended Posts

I was sleeved on 1/17/12 and I cant seem to get my Protein Shakes down... I can drink liquids fine and I have have tried everything under the sun... I started with a choc shake from muscle max, then Isopure from GNC (gross), then the vanilla shakes from costco (was ok at first)... How the heck can can I get Protein in??? I was thinking about trying an unflovered powder and geek yogurt with some fruit and make a smoothie...

try the EAS; they are not thick at all and they are the only ones I like now...

The EAS is very good, they are my go to when I don't feel like drinking a Protein Shake.< /p>

My NUT and Dr. scared me yesterday by saying If I dont get to eating and getting my nutrition in my body is going to go into starvation mode and then my metabolism will get more screwed up than it already is from all the previous yo-yo dieting I've done. I really didn't need 1 more thing to worry about :(. Has anyone else discussed the whole starvation thing with your dr?

I did this yesterday.

I also took 1/2 of a strawberry Protein Shake and added greek yogurt and blended for a smoothie and that came all right. It brought the sweetness of the shake down and the mellowed the tartness of the yogurt. I split it into two 'meals'. :)

Where do you get EAS?

Walmart has them and so does Shoprite. They are about $4.74 for a 4 pack. You can also get $1.00 off coupons at Thecouponclippers.com.

Sunday's paper, 1/22, had a $1.00 off coupon on any EAS product.

My doctor recommends the EAS AdvantEdge because they are only 100 calories, 3 carbs and 17gm of Protein. And...YUMMY.

Good Morning Sleevers! I can not believe that I was sleeved 6 days ago, I am a little lethargic at times but I contribute that to trying to do to much and only being on liquids..

I also have not found a Protein Drink that stays with me if you get my drift and I don't mean upchucking.. I have tried Chike, Isopure, Click... I have a bunch of Isopure I liked it in the beginning.. I am going to go back through them and systematically eliminate them, just in case it was a pre-op thing.. LOL though Chike is definitely out, I can't stand cold coffee therefore coffee flavors don't work for me.

Today is my last day on Full liquids then I get to have a pureed Diet, mashed potatoes never sounded so FANTASTIC.. LOL

haha, close ;)

I'm here! Just still trying to get a handle on everything. I was sleeved the 24th and I pretty much feel 100% fine now.

Eating is weird.. I have no idea how to tell if I'm full or not. (or what that even means now.)

I get gas, and burps a few times a day... but other than that, I'm good to go!

Wow! Your post-op goes fast compared to mine! Have you tried Premiere Protein? I don't know what i would have done preop without it! The Max Protein from SEI Nutrition is amazingly tasty too - neither is chalky or have an aftertaste. I'm still on Clear Liquids till tomorrow, then full liquids for a week, then mushies/purees for a week, then introduce soft, moist foods, then full foods at 5 weeks.

wow!!! I can only have black beans, no potatoes, rice, sweet potatoes...no carbs :))) she wants me to eat chicken salad, fish salad with veggies or fruits...I have a list of foods I am allowed to eat...soups (not creamed) and not canned because of the sodium content...so it's more work to get my food planned for the day :)))

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?
