Bra Recommendation

Recommended Posts

After watching the infomercial, I saw Genie bras at my local Kmart and bought two to try. They were about $20 for 2.

They are great. They are comfortable, smooth out my back fat and make my boobs look good.

Plus it ends the morning hunt for a bra that fits. It was getting very difficult trying to find one that would fit since my old "normals" looked half full now that my boobs have shrunk. :)

I've seen the bras sold on TV, and I think Kohl's sells them too. They are worth a try. I'll be buying more at least until I reach goal.

I saw these on QVC the other day and they looked good. I was thrown by the "step into" part. I'm glad that someone here has tried them! :)

I have been wearing these the entire time I have been losing weight. The "Aah" Bra or Genie Bra (BTW, same bra - different infomercials targeted at different age consumers) have been lifesavers as my breasts have been changing shape throughout the last 9 1/2 months. You don't have to step into them - you can easily pull them over your head.

Thanks for posting this. I saw these at wal-mart but read consumer reviews online and decided not to try them but now I'm gonna go get some this afternoon. I can't afford to keep buying bras every 6 weeks. lol. Thanks again.

Awesome :) I was wondering about these... I have been sticking with the 10 buck cheap bra's from walmart... and I only have one at the moment... so I have to wash it a lot lol.

May I ask you how much you paid at kmart? They seem expensive online since you can't buy them in singles.

Oh hell guys. My Mom bought these for me and they are unsupportive as a mofo. They are like a really flimsy sports bra. Stay away!

I have an Aahh Bra and it's ok. I don't think it's really great for work or anything, but it's a really nice comfy lounging bra. It's a little high for just a lounging bra. I really don't yay or nay for recommendation, I just know it's not too bad.

I don't hate it, and I don't particularly love it either.

OK never mind LOL. Even though I have lost in the boob area I'm still a 38DD or 38D depending on the bra so I need some support. Since I only have about 20 lbs to goal I probably won't lose too much more there and don't want to spend even 20 bucks on something I can't use. Thanks for the additional comments.

I got some Dr. Rey's bra's on sale at Sears a couple of weeks ago, and I'm in love. They make my boobies (that have lost all of their umph) look delicious. that Genie bra doesn't do a durn thing for me and my girls.

They are supportive enough for me, but I am on the smaller size for boobs especially since my weight loss. Did you use the insert, SouthernSleever?

I was a 40 D and used band extenders to make that fit me before I lost weight. My band size is now a 32, and I am only about halfway to goal, so I do not want to buy a bunch of bras. I'm not sure what my cup size is now, but it is probably still a C or D.

I paid $19.99 for two at Kmart. This was the price I saw them at Kohl's for as well. There is a pad thing that you stick into the cup that gives them more support and does a great job of hiding my rather large nipples.

I haven't noticed that they aren't good for support. I teach for a living, so I don't do a lot of bouncing anyway. I have worn it to play some dance games with my kids and haven't had a problem. I bought a large, which is what I am wearing in shirts. It pulls over my head. Sometimes though it rolls up in the back, and I need my hubby to help me unroll it.

My breasts are strange anyway, in my opinion. They don't meet in the center. I have a gap between them that is more than an inch apart. This bra has done the best job of giving me a more normal-looking cleavage.

And more than anything, I like how it smooths out my back fat. ;-)

LindaS, I'm glad the Genie bras work for you. I tried the Ahh, bra and they went back faster than you can say send back. They simply did not fit my boobs. Not a good look or any support whatsoever.

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

Iʻm roughly 6 weeks post-op this morning and have begun to feel like a normal human, with a normal human body again. I started introducing solid foods and pill forms of medications/supplements a couple of weeks ago and it's really amazing to eat meals with my family again, despite the fact that my portions are so much smaller than theirs.
I live on the island of Oʻahu and spend a lot of time in the water- for exercise, for play,  and for spiritual & mental health. The day I had my month out appointment with my surgeon, I packed all my gear in my truck, anticipating his permission to get back in the ocean. The minute I walked out of that hospital I drove straight to the shore and got in that water. Hallelujah! My appointment was at 10 am. I didn't get home until after 5 pm.
I'm down 31 pounds since the day of surgery and 47 since my pre-op diet began, with that typical week long stall occurring at three weeks. I'm really starting to see some changes lately- some of my clothing is too big, some fits again. The most drastic changes I notice however are in my face. I've also noticed my endurance and flexibility increasing. I was really starting to be held up physically, and I'm so grateful that I'm seeing that turn around in such short order.
My general disposition lately is hopeful and motivated. The only thing that bugs me on a daily basis still is the way those supplements make my house smell. So stink! But I just bought a smell proof bag online that other people use to put their pot in. My house doesn't stink anymore.

Oh yeah, something I wanted to rant about, a billing dispute that cropped up 3 months ago.
Surgery was in August of 2023. A bill shows up for over $7,000 in January. WTF? I asks myself. I know that I jumped through all of the insurance hoops and verified this and triple checked that, as did the surgeon's office. All was set, and I paid all of the known costs before surgery.
A looong story short, is that an assistant surgeon that was in the process of accepting money from my insurance company touched me while I was under anesthesia. That is what the bill was for. But hey, guess what? Some federal legislation was enacted last year to help patients out when they cannot consent to being touched by someone out of their insurance network. These types of bills fall under something called, "surprise billing," and you don't have to put up with it.
      https://www.cms.gov/nosurprises
I had to make a lot of phone calls to both the surgeon's office and the insurance company and explain my rights and what the maximum out of pocket costs were that I could be liable for. Also had to remind them that it isn't my place to be taking care of all of this and that I was going to escalate things if they could not play nice with one another.
Quick ending is that I don't have to pay that $7,000+. Advocate, advocate, advocate for yourself no matter how long it takes and learn more about this law if you are ever hit with a surprise bill.
