So january 31 2012 would be a 1 year anniversary i have lost 85 pounds so far but i hear people that lost 100 of pounds and it not even been a year i feel like im stuck im down to like 5 pound a month any suggestion on how i can enhance the weight loss i started out 295 i am now 210 my goal is to be 180 also can someone give me feedback on how long u can lose weight after surgery 1 year, 2 years, 3 year,

We are all so different. You shouldn't compare yourself to anyone else. You have done amazingly well! You should be proud of yourself. I really don't think there is any exact science to the weight loss. If you keep following the rules and working out, your body will get there. If you are getting off track, face it, and make the changes to make things better. You really can do this!

My surgeon told me that the honeymoon period is the first 8 months. However, that doesn't mean you won't continue to lose for much longer! 85 pounds is really great and you can lose those last few pounds. You're in the home stretch and all of the long-term sleevers have posted about how hard that last 30 pounds can be to lose.

You can still get to goal. Your body likes where it is right this minute, obviously. Keep doing your thing, Water, Protein, and exercise (if you're doing any) and you WILL get there. Stalls are frustrating, but we are usually shrinking, or so my pants keep telling me. I'm currently stuck at 57 pounds lost, but my pants are getting bigger. I'll take it.

Keep going! You're almost there on your journey! I can't wait until I'm that close to goal.

First of all congrats on how far you have come. It's really an amazing accomplishment.

I have a sleeve sister who lost 15 lbs. after her 1 year anniversary.

The closer we are getting to goal, with all the percentage difference in account, the less we tend to lose and the harder we can too. But that doesnt mean it happens and people reach goal. SO hang in there and keep fighting the good fight, you are not abnormal or anything, you are actually a success with 85 pounds lost! I have heard about people losng 60 Pounds a year and I AM still bowing to them in respect and amazed by their journey.

Our bodies is really so different and everyone is a special case when it come to weight loss, so take out the comparison from ur frame of mind and start thinking about what a great achievement you have done so far. I have been losing less than 5 pounds a month now and some month went without any loss, played with stalls and took every advice on here and applied it but then after many times of repeated stalls/ slow WL.. I managed to understand that the body will do what the body will do. It got its plan! but in no way its plan can conquer the simple mathematical rules ( calorie in VS calorie out) so one day it will give up when the time is right and let go of the few left long friend-ed fat:)

I agree with the other posters... you have done sooo well! And, yes the last part is the hardest! I am struggling with the last 10lb and have been doing so for many, many weeks! There are lots of different things to take in to account....

Please don't compare yourself to anyone but YOU! Gauge your success by how far YOU have come! 85lb in less than a year is truly a success... you have gained your health back and that is so important!

I went through a phase where I compared myself to others... it took me to a very dark place that I didn't like or enjoy. I had to find the courage to stop doing it and just look at what I had done and how well I had done. Before the sleeve I could NEVER lose more than 7lb, and like soooo many others it all came back plus some! And now, here I am 74lb down, 10lb away from my surgeon's goal and wearing a UK 14... a size that I haven't worn since the day I got married 17yrs ago. So, I am not at my weight 'goal', but I have my health and my life back to a place that I finally like.

You have done great, just keep up your slow and steady pace and you will get there!!!

So, I guess you know all the basics, but drink lots of Water, eat Protein first, moderate your carb intake, and excercise, even just walking! You really are getting very close to your goal and I know you can make it.

At a year you are still losing 5 pounds a month, that is great! That will take the weight where you want it to be. I am losing between 2-3 pounds a month at 10 months...(January 18th will be my one year ...I have lost 83 pounds so far) I will get there too. You have done great, and will be there sometime this next year. In the meantime, enjoy your new life. You are so close!

I am with you on this, my year anniversary will be 5th January, and my goal has always been to be at my weight goal by christmas. I've had a 3.5lb re-gain (no idea why!), and have now stalled here since halloween, I really could just weep.

I have tried varying my food, eating more, eating less, cutting carbs, adding carbs, eating different things at different times and NOTHING has changed. So I've decided to go back to liquid only for a couple of weeks, and hope that will get things moving.

I just feel like I've plodded around in a big circle though, this time last year I was doing my liquid pre-op, and looking forward to getting off the 'diet' band waggon, and now a year later I'm back on it!

I'm sleeved now 5 months. I've lost just over 70pds. With me, I've been so strict with myself. I have stayed away from the carbs and have watched my fat content. I had the plateau issue last month. What I did was more water intake and excerise. I changed my excercise from walking to swimming and did a protein shake in the morning instead of breakfast.

As of today I can say I am passed my plateau and down another 5pds. The main key is to stay focussed and not to lose faith in yourself. I wish you the best of luck. Let us know how your doing. Maddy
