Looking for 40's Sleevers :)

Recommended Posts

Hi! I'm 46 and new to the site. I have my consultation on Friday and am really excited, but would really like to visit with some sleevers who are around my age. Anybody out there in their 40's? All responses really appreciated!!

There is actually a whole forum dedicated to age groups. This is where you can get some great input from those members who are around the same age. I will be 41 in January and I am 10 weeks post op. Let me know if there is anything I can help with.

Age Specific VSG Support Groups

These forums allow you to discuss age specific Vertical Sleeve (VSG) issues with others in your age group.

I was sleeved August 9, and I turned 40 just 10 days later (August 19). I love my sleeve and this forum. :)

Good luck at your consultation. I hope things go smoothly for you.

I turned 45 on 10/8 & was sleeved 10/14. Still adjusting, I'm back at work (went back on 10/24) figuring out what to eat and how much, but I'm loving it! Feel free to ask any questions. Welcome!

Hi All,

I turn 44 on 11/11 and I'm more healthy today then when I was 34! I had the band to sleeve revision by Dr. Aceves on 10/12/11 so I'm about 3 weeks out. I am so glad to be rid of the band :)

Thanks for all the support!

I had my sleeve done on May 25th, 2011, I was 46. I just turned 47 in September. It has been great, I wish I would have done it years ago but timing is everything.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
