You know you lost weight when

Recommended Posts

I knew i had lost weight when 2 work jackets I bought years ago never fit...and now I can layer them together and STILL have room in them!!! The funny thing is I often layer them because since losing weight i am cold ALL THE TIME! LOL

My husband and I were shopping and he had to run to the bathroom. When he came back 15 mins later he said that he literally walked past me 3 times and didn't realize it was me. He did recognize me !! Lol

I am only 5' tall so it was always a challenge to get close enough to the gas pedal and not get scrunched up against the steering wheel. Yup! No longer my problem!

When your wife says that you feel "bigger" because there's less separating you! ;) :o B)

When your 8 year old nephew hugs you and says "Wow! You have lost a lot of pounds."

When you don't have to strategically think of how you are going to position yourself to clip your toenails. You can either reach down to clip them without a fat roll hindering you to reach them or you can just bend your leg up to clip them. This may seem silly to some but it was a life defining moment for me!

You have a positive emotional moment in the Kohl's dressing room due to you keep grabbing sizes that are too big! Your mind set hasn't caught up with your body size.

When I put on last years sweater and the sleeves are now way to long. Baffled me for a bit. My arms didn't get shorter, but my shoulders have lost quite a bit. I wasn't expecting that so I tried on a couple more jackets. Same phenomenon. :). The Good Will store is getting some very nice donations.

As a college student I had to open an eBay store to sell my old clothes (I'm dropping sizes fast and only wear things a couple times before I'm on to a lower size) so that I can afford to buy new clothes that fit.

When you can buy shoes a size smaller because you no longer have fat feet.

When the people you work with are concerned that you might get too small. This one is baffling for me because I have always been heavy.

When you think your ring size 7 will fit and realize that after getting sized you are a size 4.5.

Oh the many joys of all this :) I love it!

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
