What a roller coaster of emotions, huh? I keep going back and forth from being really calm and determined and being scared out of my mind. I did my required pre-op crying last night and I hope that's the last of it. I keep telling myself that it's normal to be afraid to fail, and it's normal to be afraid of being a statistic, but that I'm going to be just fine and I'm going to be so glad I did it just like everyone else on this board. Wish me luck!

Awesome!!!! ... just think, this time next week you will be eagerly looking at the scales and have a big ole smile on your face!

Keep us posted!:D

Good luck to everyone, you are going to do amazingly! Tomorrow will be 1 week for me and I'm feeling fabulous! Back at work, and down 10 pounds already :) Of course, I didn't do the pre-op diet so the weight will come off fast initially but I'm not complaining!

So now it's Saturday evening, my operation was Thursday morning. Today I perked up a little bit, moving around some, even going for a walk. I am still on my pain meds, and seem to start running fever if I don't take them

Anyway, today I've had more Clear Liquids, and am sipping on some crystal light right now.

The sugar free popsicles have been a big hit with me.

Anyhow, feel better today than yesterday, I hope I continue to feel better each day.

It's Sunday evening and I have to say I feel pretty darn good! I'm still on pain meds but I take them farther apart now and I get up and move around a lot. I even went out to Walmart today with my mom to pick up a few things and was ok. I love love love not being hungry!!! I feel like I could do liquids for months and not be sad about it. My mom eats right in front of me and it doesn't bother me one bit. I'm so content with my juice and my homemade broth. That first day/night in the hospital was pretty rough but even then I didn't regret doing this, and I'm already so happy that I did. For all of you out there that are still pre-op, don't let your fears get to you. This is going to be glorious!

Hello everyone!! So..... last Thursday, 8/25, I was sleeved.

At home the next day, I had some low grade fever issues, and took the proscribed liquid pain meds for that. My post op recovery has not been that bad, except I had been having

very real, and upsetting dreams. I thought it was from the general that I was given for surgery, but once I called my doctor to talk about it, he said to get off the pain medicine that was proscribed for my pain at home. The bad dreams stopped. Wow, I can't really overstate how upsetting the dreams were. So, i hope the dreams are truly gone.

So today, i had no fever, no real pain except if coughing hard, or moving the wrong way. Of course my stomach must still be swollen.

Today, I worked at home all day, many things not very physical, but some requiring a moderate level of physical exertion. In other words, at day 6 or 7, I feel like i could return to work if i needed to, :) but i still have 5 more days off. I took vacation time for this, i feel very strongly that my surgery is none of my employer's business. I'm working on things that i have trouble getting done while working 5 days a week. Like taking my boat in to Bass Pro for servicing, getting the cable guy out to boost my cable signal, get a new garage door opener for my Daughter. Things that are impossible to do when you work during the day.

So, I feel normal again, or at least a new normal. 6 or 7 days after the surgery. I'm very happy i did this.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
