HELP! My hubby wants to cut up my BRAS!

Recommended Posts

haha....made you look :P

Just kind of having a Celebrate me day! Hubby had one condition of the surgery. When we first got married I was 125 and wore all kinds of pretty bras. 24 years later....more weight etc....have gotten in the habit of wearing sports-type bras. He told me when I lost 50 lbs, he was cutting up all the ugly bras! LOLOL...I told him I don't want to clothes/bra shop yet. I am activily still loosing and want to wait a while (I don't plan on staying in this size long - optimistic thinking??)

As a celebration of hitting 50 lb (actually 51 today YEA) I am going to let him cut up ONE sports bra.....and I am making him take me out to dinner and we are going to fun outing in New Orleans for the night!

Any of you ladies slow to buy new clothes too? Guess it is because over the years I have lost and then put it back on???

Happy thoughts!

Having a good day, month!

I'm buying things in small quantities and only shopping in cheaper stores or big sales . For example, I bought two bras, two pairs of workout pants, one pair of jeans, and a few tank tops and one sweater. These clothes are taking me from 190 to 170 or so, By the time I hit 170, I will need smaller things again. I'm not spending much. I got the workout pants for about $15, the tops for $4, the sweater for $12, jeans for $15 and the bras were buy one get one free. I do pay more for bras because at 50+ I need support.

If you have lost 50 lbs. no way those sport bras are still doing a good job. I'd buy a couple of new bras if I were you and enjoy them.

That is awesome!

Lol, I can't wait to buy some nice bras, but it will probably be after the breasts get a lift and some filler. I have really uneven breasts, so I never really feel attractive in a bra. But after I meet goal, these girls are getting a job!

But I too am not buying clothes yet. I feel it will just be a waste of money. But then again my clothes are starting to fall off?? Im 6 weeks post op and have lost 30 lbs. Of course the first thing to go are my girls : ( I dont even know what bra size I am now? But my good bras I bought at Lane Bryant (44 DD) are droopy. I have 3 kids going back to school $$$$ so mom has to wait...

That is so funny because my husband HAS done the same thing too. I had a few old bras that were literally needing to be tied like bikini tops to keep them on. He made me take one off and took the scissors to it so I wouldn't fish it out of the trash. LOL

I haven't wanted to buy anything at all because I loathe spending the money on things I'm just going to shrink out of. I did ask a male friend of mine what size his wife wore (I figure we're about the same size right now) because I had to order some items for my brother in law's upcoming wedding. I wanted to be sure they'd get SOME use. But other than that? I'm probably not going to buy much else except for stretchy pants for home (I work from home) and cheap bras/underwear only when they're as saggy as they have been lately.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
