Ok, before surgery I saw that quite a few people had become "cold" after their surgery. I was really hoping that would happen to me. However, so far it hasn't. For those of you who did experience the "cold" feeling - when did it start? Right away, or was it after some time?

I am feeling pretty cold - even our house, which was usually comfortable to me, feels a few degrees chillier than it should to me.

It started for me on the 2nd day after surgery.

Glad to see you posting and to see that you're doing well!

I felt the cold pretty much right away but then again it was winter. I am almost 5 months out and it is summer and I am not as hot as I used to be but I am not chilled like I was in winter.

I was really cold the first week or so after surgery and now it's just from time to time. However, I used to absolutely freeze everyone out in my family. So this has been a welcome change! I keep a quilt by my chair to cover up with!

I always feel cold now at goal weight. Unless I am sweating. Carry a sweatshirt around almost everywhere I go...just in case. If you were cold a lot before you will be colder afterwards.

Well I'm the odd ball. Since surgery I've been hot. I was freezing my husband out in the hospital room.

Robin, I think you and I are in the same boat! I have always been one to freeze others out as I'm always hot. Unfortunately that hasn't changed and the way it sounds from others, it probably won't change at this point. Too bad, I was really looking forward to being cold.

For about the first 1-2 weeks I was hot, cold, hot, cold. It was horrible. Then, for about a month I was FREEZING all of the time!!

Now, my hands get cold a lot, but mainly when I am at work. My office is sooo cold. When I am at home, I seem to be fine. I get cold at night time sometimes and it is weird!!! I just cover up in bed and get toasty!!

My dr. said it WILL stop. It doesn't seem to be as bad now and I am 10 weeks out on Monday!!

Kelly :)

I noticed that I get colder now after surgery as well. I was sleeved on July 22 and the cold flashes started about two days out...whether I am at home, in the car or outside (in the heat of the summer). I thought it wouldn't start until I was a month or two out at least. I was wrong, so now I just leave a jacket in the car and throw near the chair. The sleeping fan is finally getting a break  . My office at work is generally freezing so when I return, I probably will need to dress as if it were winter time to survive even with a heater.

I was cold for the first couple weeks after surgery, which is extremely rare for me as I am the most hot-natured person I know!!

Sadly it did not last. We are having days with 110+ heat index here now and we are melting!!

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
