16 weeks and in a bad stall

Recommended Posts

As of MOnday, I am 16 weeks from surgery. I have stopped loosing weight. I haven't lost anything for 2 weeks. I have tried everything that I have in the past and I can't break the stall. I have put on one pound even! Anyone out there had the same issue?

Hi there - I know with the band I would hit a stall after losing for several weeks. But the saving tactic was doing my measurements. I started that right before I had my surgery and then did it each week for about the first 6 months. I was amazing to see the inches keep coming off...even when I didn't lose any lbs.

Give it a try...your body is probably rearrange as we speak!

You are probably right! It just seems so odd to just halt my weight-loss after 16 weeks! I have hit stalls, but nothing like this. I am still not loosing and I am now at 17 weeks.

Although, on a positive note, my friend said that I look like I am loosing even though the scale is lying to me. She always is so positive:)!

Thanks for the post. I was beginning to feel frustrated and upset. Even though I am still not loosing, I am trying to think positive and stay upbeat!

Hello!

Stall's Stink! It is the most talked about topic on this forum! A true "stall" is 3 or more weeks without loss. Below you can see my weight loss results.. I only weigh myself once a week and since June 3rd I have not lost one singe pound.. nothing.. VERY frustrating. I had a little personal goal of wanting to be at 250 pounds by my 6 month surgery date... since I have not lost a pound in 3 weeks, this is pretty frustrating - not going to hit my target.

I count calories (1000 a day) , I count carbs (stay under 40 a day), I hit my protien goal and I hit my Water goal every day.

I started walking about 5 weeks ago, started slow - 20 mins a day, have worked up to 3 miles a day now... and still I have not lost a pound in 3 weeks....so I am with you!!! I am not giving up, and dont you give up... we just have to work past this little hurdle.. (and cuss alot)!!!

Good luck my friend..

I haven't lost anything in 6 weeks and have actually gained 3 lbs this last week. I actually tried cutting down the calories to 700 and it didn't work, so maybe I'll up them a bit and see if that helps. I am 18 weeks out and really frustrated. Had great loss at the beginning and now just can't get out of this slump.

I had a good discussion with my doctor about this last week. He said to remember that your body is losing even if the scale doesn't move. He said there are a lot of contributing factors that make up the scale "number" and not to worry if it doesn't go down. Especially if you are exercising and gaining muscle. To prove you are still losing take your measurements and compare them to previous weeks/months. But on a personal note I know how frustrating it can be. Been there done that! lol

Good luck and congratulations on your success this far! :)

That's how I lost the entire time starting at month 2. Stall 3 weeks or more and then drop several pounds quickly. Repeat the next month. It was frustrating and weird, but I lost inches while stalling. Do be sure to measure as suggested. It's good for the morale to confirm the inches are coming off. I still lost a lot of weight year 1 stalls and all. I had so much to lose, I knew I wouldn't lose it all in one year.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
