Letting go of the Armor...

Recommended Posts

Hi! I don't really know where to begin, other than to say I decided to get the sleeve done. Through counseling, I have relaized and admitted why I did this to myself in the first place and where the roots of my over-eating lie. Once I realized I over-eat to rebel, and well, I am 38 and not rebelling against anyone anymore, I pretty much stopped immediately. However, I want to Not be hungry ALL THE TIME anymore. I want my knees, ankles, and hip to stop hurting everyday. I want to be 38; not 58. :(

I feel the same way , I am 42 and my body feels double that . I want my mind and body to become equal and that is why I decided to do this surgery as well. Good luck on your journey and keep us posted

It's great that you've pinpointed why you overeat. I think most people struggle with that and often fall back to old ways (myself being one- in the past anyways). Good luck to you! Having the sleeve is such a great tool!

I admire you for going through the couseling to identify what was causing your overeating. That is a HUGE step. I am so pleased with my sleecve - it is really the right choice for me. I wish you good luck with your weight loss journey.

kayjunqueen, your are singing my song sista! I just started counseling after some soul rocking revelations in an already disfunctional life! I will be rooting for you, please keep posting! I have just made me decision (during the last month or so) and things are moving rapidly because I have a supportive parent standing by to bless me with the finances. I may be sleeving in the next 1-2 weeks, barring any major setbacks in my labwork.

Wishing you the best and looking forward to taking the journey with y'all :D

Sounds like you are off to a good start. I see you have lost a good amount of weight and with the counseling under your belt. You should have a strong foundation. WTG

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
