My experience is very similar to yours. I'll be a month out Wednesday and am only down 13 lbs since surgery. I also expected it to be more but am trying to be happy with the loss. I also had my hiatal hernia repaired. I can really tell a difference in how it makes me feel. I don't have heartburn and I have so much more energy. I lost over 100lbs before on my own but like you I'm thinking this "tool" will help me keep it off instead of regaining it plus more.

Well said girl!!! I like how you told it like it is! I agree with everything you wrote. We do need to do this for ourselves! I like a quote I read on here today that kind of fits the tone of your post: "Life has no remote control... you have to get up and change it yourself"! So true we do! I can definitely tell YOU are because you are looking fabulous!!! Yes you were pretty to begin with and you keep on getting prettier! Congrats on all your success and all the obstacles you've overcome.

I hear ya! I have been the same way lately! I've been meeting guys I'm interested in and have to seriously control myself so I don't act on impulse. Being single and having these fluctuating hormones is more chllenging than I ever imagined!

I was thin before- had lost about 150lbs- unfortunately gained it all back (hence the sleeve). Anyways when I was thin I had more energy, more confidence, was eager to try new things in life, and was just a happier person. I lived life! Since I gained the weight back I left all that behind. Ready to get back to that point again. I remember during spinning classes I would look in the mirror and think- is that thin person sweating in a spinning class really me? I would love to see that person in the mirror again or should I say I look forward in seeing that person soon!

Anyways all the jeans in the plus size sections or stores are too big for me! Yes- I was finally able to purchase jeans again in a regular store! Been a long time and I was so happy to be back. It was like seeing an old friend! I'm here again and this time to stay. I will not go back to the plus sizes!!! What a great feeling- can't wait to wear my new jeans!

Yesterday I wore my skinny leg jeans, a ribbed v-neck white sweater, my black leather jacket, and my pointy-toed black boots. Yeah, I looked hot! Smiling still...
This was the 1st day in the two-weeks where I could really show off my new body and weight-loss to everyone. First, one of the directors chased me down to say how great I looked. That made me smile.
But, the true NSV was from the group of women that I truly cannot stand. These women are a clique and spread hateful gossip like WILDFIRE! These women haven't said a single word to me since my return to work 2-weeks ago. But, they do stare at me.
So yesterday I'm in an early morning meeting with one of them discussing a new priority project. One of the key-cliquer's is in the meeting. She watches me get up and then looks me up and down with her mouth gapping....does she not think I cannot see this? I'm laughing inside and keeping a straight face while talkikng with my boss.
Then another cliquer walked in and I get the same reaction from her...looking me up and down with a gapping mouth, but not saying a word. I act like I don't see her, but she goes over to her clique-mate and they start whispering. I'm sure they are talking about how I took the easy road by surgery, but I don't care.
My take-away from this...the joy of seeing them look me up and down in shock over my current transformation. Just wait girlies....there is more to come!

Hello there VST!! It's been some time since I've sent you all some updated photos... so that's my full intent right this very moment.
I've been through a lot!! I've been struggling to get healthy and fit for 6.5 YEARs now. Well guess what, TODAY and everyday after will be a success, because that is exactly where I am right now. I do NOT regret one single second of my long journey, and certainly never punished any pound lost. I celebrated them all, because they all mattered! I avoided the word "only" like a disease because that one single word can change a sentence by volumes. You are what you make of it. I made it gourmet, and I encourage all others to do the same.
Never let anyone tell you there is an end to the weight loss with the sleeve, never allow anyone to put an "expiration date" on your tool. The only one person who has control over that is YOU!! If you believe it, you will BE IT!!
Be LOUD Be PROUD... OWN IT!!! Keep on fighting!!!
Remember, I'm always only a message away. I'm always happy to give out my help if you need it, because I already know how difficult and mentally trying weight loss can be. I was there!! But... even when I was at my lowest point, that was when I reached down deep inside, picked up my big girl panties and made it work!
Heaviest ever weight 330 Lbs. Lap Band weight 283 Lbs. Sleeve weight 272 Lbs. Today 170 Lbs!!!

I am about 4 1/2 months post op. As I reflect on the time since surgery I know I've had many ups and downs. This past month has been harder for me than the others. It's summertime, I'm reconnecting with my social life, and basically living life again. I went on a mini-vaca with friends. I drank and had fun. While I know this doesn't help with my weight loss (and yes the scale slowed during this time) I had a lot of fun with my friends, which has been a long time since I let that happen due to not wanting to be around many people when my weight was higher.

Now that I'm home and back on track the pounds are coming off. I've lost 70 pounds since surgery and 133 pounds since starting the process. Some NSV's I've had:
1). not having to worry about fitting in a booth at a restaurant
2). fitting comfortably in the seat while I drive
3). fitting comfortably in a seat at the movie theater
4). having more confidence
5). working up to an hour on the elliptical (yay!)
6). getting into my smaller clothing
7). being comfortable enough to attend social events
8). having more energy to babysit and play with my nephew
9). being able to plan future vacations and book fun, adventurous activities
10). being able to smile again and feel happy (no more fake smile!)

There are so many more but that is what comes to mind right away. I know I still have a long way to go but I know I will get there eventually! I'm so happy I had the sleeve and am ready to focus again and hit more milestones!
