Hi everyone! I'm in Ocala. About 1hr north of Orlando. I'm a week post op and really feeling this emotionally. I miss my food friends. I didn't realize how much I depended on food!

Hi! I live in Starke but my favorite restaurant is in Ocala and my husband and I always stop to eat there on the way to Orlando.

I don't think we truly understand how much control food had over us until we can't have it. Use this time to try to start your good habits because in a few months you'll be able to eat those foods again. I love the saying, "They did surgery on your stomach, not your brain." Definitely true! We still have to make the right choices.

That is one of my fears. I love food. I know that I will have to go through a grieving process after surgery but I've read it gets better. ????I know that doesn't help right this second though. I've also heard that sugar free popsicles are your new best friend...

Is anyone in Lake City, Florida? I'm starting the process of getting WLS the end of March or beginning of April. It would be nice to have a surgery buddy or someone that can give me a few pointers.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
