Im 18 days out & have been sailing through this with no problems (knock on wood!). One small issue though that is becoming annoying is I wake up every night at about 2 or 3o'clock with horrible cotton mouth. I get some Water but have trouble going back to sleep. Im drinking lots of water. Some plain & some with crystal light pure. I was drinking Isopure but now that im on soft foods i quit that and have not seen any improvement yet. Before surgery I was an enormous diet dr pepper drinker and never experienced this. Now that all im drinking is water it seems strange this would be going on. Anyone else experience this or have a possible remedy?

I am 14 days out and have the same issue. I am getting at least 64oz in a day but wake up with a horrible dry mouth. Last night, I drank 24oz of ice Water right before I went to bed. This morning, it was a little better but still dry.

I had that, too, for the first few weeks. It's gone now, especially if I really work on getting my Water in during the afternoon/evening. Just keep doing what you're supposed to be doing--it will get better!

There's a gel for dry mouth (I think it might be by biotene?) It really works to keep that at bay, you just put a little of it in your mouth and it keeps your mouth moist all night. I used it preop too due to having dry mouth all the time from cpap. There are also some little tablets that you put in your mouth and they kind of stick to your cheeks while you sleep, those are good too. You might try these to help you get to sleep until you get past that stage. ;)

I don't have the issue at night but I do get cotton mouth if I am outside trying to do some chores and don't constantly sip on Water. That's aggrevating as hell to stop what I'm doing to sip, sip, sip! If I don't have any water to sip, I'll get real hoarse in the voice and my throat gets dry too. I generally get 64 to 100 ounces of Fluid a day, so I should not be dehydrated.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
