So in order to really motivate myself I booked a carribean cruise with my sister for next March! My sis is having a baby in July so it is also a motivator for her as well to get the baby weight off. I get a little anxiety when I think of buying a swimsuit, which is something I haven't done in a looooong time.

We will be doing many excursions including parasailing, ziplining, swimming with dolphins/stingrays, snorkeling, kayaking, etc. I want to be in shape so I can enjoy all of it and the ziplining has a weight limit so I definitely need to work my tail off in the next 10 months!

I keep thinking.. I can NOT fail this time! I just have to make it happen!

What a great way to stay motivated! We are going to Disney in October so that is motivation for me but it would be fun to do something like that a year out from surgery. I think I might look into that for my husband and myself! I can hardly wait to go on trips and buy cute outfits and enjoy myself instead of always being concerned about how I look or how much I will sweat!

Wow, the Caribbean! That's going to be SO nice! I bet you already see yourself lying on a white sand beach...

I am going to go to the beach too in August and feel the same... I need a tankini (I hate my scars)! I love the idea of not being the biggest person on the beach!!!

Oh yeah- definitely a tankini or one piece to hide the scars. Hopefully one day I will have the confidence and the body for a bikini but for now- no way! I just hope to feel strong and have lots of energy to enjoy all that we will do. I already feel much better than before surgery and I have sooooo long to go. I can't imagine what I will feel like then!

SunnyD--I'm with you! My DH, son, and I are actually going on an Alaskan Disney cruise next month. It's been planned since December--long before I got sleeved. (Sleeved 4/25/11) We haven't even been on this Disney cruise yet and my husband has booked us on a Disney cruise to Hawaii next year--almost a year to the date after my sleeve and the day after our 6 year anniversary! I am excited about getting a bathing suit next year and not have dimply thighs hanging out everywhere!

Dixies Mom you HAVE to let me know how that goes! Me, hubby and son were supposed to do that in August (to Alaska) but other things intervened :( But we are planning for next year for sure! Have a great time.

Sunny D I see a tankini in your future!!

Great motivator!! What cruise line and what port? Hubby and I are also going in March, leaving out of Galveston, TX. Me and my 5 best girlfriends are taking a "girls only cruise" in Oct.............I'm waiting for one of our hubby's to stowaway in a suitcase!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
