Is Exercising Making You Want to Eat More?

Recommended Posts

Hi All!

I'm currently 5.5 months out and down 74 lbs! Yay for that!! :) The past 3-4 weeks I've been religiously working out and weight training (again) about four days a week. Now I find myself so super hungry!! Is this head hunger or even normal? Since surgery, I've had zero interested in eating, so I don't know what the deal is now. What do you think?

Thanks in advance,

SB

I think I was getting head hungry around the same time and I started making bad decisions and consuming slider foods that allowed me to eat more. I recently went back to eggs, chicken, turkey, and all the Protein and I don't feel hungry, on days I workout I also try to get in 100 ozs of Water I think that has helped too.

I do cardio and weight training 4 times a week, if you think it's truly hunger try chicken, turkey or fish and see if that holds you.

Yes, most of the time. I avoid exercising too early in the day for that reason. If I work out in the evening, I usually don't have much time left to overeat!

I exercise 3-4 times a week, weighttraining, cardio (aerobics, step), much more intensively than I used to (I'm nearly 7 months out) and I definetly am hungrier

Actually for me it's the exact opposite. When I'm keeping up with my schedule, I actually want to eat less. I can be a perfect little angel as far as eating when I'm doing really good with my exercise. I'm satisfied with super health nut food and Protein drinks.

Now, it's when I skip a workout day (non scheduled) that I notice my eating habits take a backward dive. I know... weird... I never claimed to be normal though!!!!

I recently added 40 minutes of cardio before Breakfast. I feel so hungery all morning. I absolutly eat more now - especially between 8am and noon - but - my weight loss had come to a stop and it has started again. I guess you have to put some fuel in the furnace if you want it to burn.

I try to get in 4 to 5 cardio workouts a week. On days I don't work out, I'm pretty successful staying at 900 calories. On days I do workout, I end up consuming about 1200 calories, burning 650 calories and netting 550 calories.

So, I ran into this thread a little while back, and at the time I was walking for exercise. Since then, I've moved on to the elliptical trainer and exercise classes, and OMG, my hunger is soooo much more now!!! I can't believe how hungry I've been! I'll just stick to my program, etc, but I am a little bummed to be getting so hungry!!! I'm hoping that my body is just adjusting to the increased exercise....

You absolutely need more calories when you are working out as opposed to someone who doesn't lift a finger to do anything. So I guess that hunger is just your body's way of letting you know to put more IN!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
