My surgery was March 14. I am doing pretty good physically in every way. It is the mental stuff that has been difficult for me. I am down 30 lbs. as of today. I was at a stall for awhile, so yesterday, I tried to up my eating. I had a cheese omelet in the morning, then a Protein Shake, then grits in the afternoon and another cheese omelet at night with tons of Water. This morning when I woke up, I broke my stall and have lost 30 lbs. Pretty excited. I ate more than ever and that is what made the scale move. Weird! Monday I went to Disneyland for the entire day. That was okay, no problem really. They have toddler meals and I ordered that. It came with applesauce and milk and that was all I needed. I was exhausted all day yesterday. The drinking is so much easier. I can take pretty big double gulps. This morning I ate all but a couple of bites of my omelet. The first time I had one, I could only have a couple of bites before I was done. I am starting to do a bit better mentally. I never gave that part of it much thought. I just figured I knew and I could deal with it no problem. It is a different story when you are living it. I have gone through major feelings of buyer's remorse. I am kinda mourning some of my favorite meals and eating with my family like I used to. Now that I am able to eat and drink easier, I am starting to feel better. Monday I go back to work. I hope I am ready for my 25 kinders!! They are exhausting on my best day! :)

I am 9 lbs. away from Onederland!! That has me so excited I can't even believe it!! It was college since I have been there. I am 40 years old! I figure when I put away my winter clothes, I will pack them up for good. There is no going back and I know by next winter I will not be able to wear them! How EXCITING!!!

Good luck everyone. I would love to hear how all the other March Sleevers are doing!

Thank you everyone for your prayers. My 4 month old (only) granddaughter died of SIDS. Our family is devistated as you can imagine. food, my drug of choice, is not an option. Because of my sleeve I CAN'T eat much. Feeling feelings and not "checking out" with food is brand new for this grandma. One day at a time, the path to healing has begun - without food as a distration to moving forward.

I'm sure this is one of many hills and valleys one goes through in life, and without food life is REAL.

Thanks again for the kind thought and word from everyone.

5 weeks post op today - I feel very good. I hope March sleevers are doing okay, and if not try to stay connected with others. This message board has been so helpful to me to use as a sounding board. Of course, I always rely on my doc for advice, but connecting with others is also just as valuable.

I LOVE my new life. Today I FULLY UNDERSTAND a new way to live, one day at a time - EAT TO LIVE, instead of live to eat. What a blessing this experience has been for me. Hang in there if you're new or having problems.

16 weeks here and down 57 pounds from day of surgery and 67 pounds since pre-op. Ashamed to say I have not been exercising at all. I can tell it, too. It is just so dang hot here and the treadmill is so boring, but I KNOW I need to for my own good. I feel like my muscles are wasting awayblink.gif

Thanks for reviving this thread. I hope everyone is feeling good!

Oh! btw, I have been losing hair like CRAZY for about a month. I have lost at least 1/3 of my hair volume. People say they can't tell, but good grief, I am worried because most people say they lost their hair for at least 3 months. 2 more months of this, and I will be buying myself a blue Katy Perry wig!!! lolbiggrin.gif

I don't care, though. It's ALL worth it. Already down from a size 20 to 14/16 in my jeans and boy does that ever make me forget about the hair! It will grow back!!!

Love it! I had my 3 month mark this week (6/28) and am down 50 since surgery day and 68 including pre op. Since my highest weight (when I started my 6months required w/ PCP) I am down 98 total. I am trying so hard to hit that 100 pound total loss by 7/4!

I haven't been exercising much at all, but did step it up last week to try to break my stall. I have been having some pretty crazy dizzy spells and finally had blood work done this week. My potassium was a little low so I'm thinking that's what is causing it.

No significant Hair loss yet. I lose a lot all the time but my hair is pretty long so I think I just notice it more. down from a 20/22 (24 at highest) to a 14 jeans but 16 in most everything else.

Overall, just lovin' this new life and feeling pretty normal. :)

I'm hanging in there also. Down right at 60lbs from my heaviest.

It has been much harder than I thought it would. From the beginning, I have had no problems at all with nausea or restrictions...never had a problem eating anything or any amount. I do go to monthly support groups which really helps.

I just have to accept that I will always be someone who has to weigh and measure everything to make sure I keep portions in control. I have no problems getting all my Proteins in and have had no Hair loss so far, (knock on wood.)

Right there with everyone on exercise. Need to do more, but it is too darn hot!

I do feel much better and have definitely contributed to the Goodwill with a bags of clothes I was happy to no longer be able to wear!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
