African American Sleevers

  • Popular Post

Hi All!

I wanted to start a thread for African-American sleevers (no worries I HEART all sleevers from the rainbow). I just thought, no scientific proof, that African-American sleevers may respond to the surgery different than our lovely non-African American sleeved sisters and brothers. I wanted to know if we had the same skin issue, hair problems, and other surgery related issues. Also, how to deal with the culture shock. African-American "soul food" may be something of the past... or not. So I was just looking for a space to voice culture related issues and concens.

PS- I TRULY  ALL SLEEVERS.

For sore throat my family uses apple cider vinegar 1 tsp and honey make like a syrup...take every 2 hrs or as needed...This concoction even kills strep, to make it stronger grate up a clove of garlic in it too...

Thank you isleeve and endure for you great suggestions... I have actually been boiling apple cider vinegar, raw honey, lemon juice and tea bags together and drinking that since about 10pm last night and I feeling much better. I made a big mug for work this morning and about to make another now... Thanks you again for the great advice, it's greatly appreciated. Nothing is going to stop me from getting this sleeve on Tuesday.

Hi all,

Welcome all newbies. Remember if God brings you to it he will bring you through it.

It's been awhile since I post as I been in a bad MS flare since late October. But on scale today and happy to be down total of 63 lbs. it feels good to still have loss 11 lbs during this flare. This is opposite when I had the band as I gained 30 lbs during a 3 month recovery. So I just praise God for getting the sleeve.

Also, Please keep prayers up as MS is progressing and I want to walk the Golden Gate Bridge again (using my walker)!

Hi...Im praying for you as it relates to your MS.

Merry Christmas to all my brothers and sisters who are and will be sleevers! Happy Holidays!

Merry Christmas

This is only the second Holiday where I have dedicated some part of this day to exercise. I thank my sleeve for that, before, the whole time would be consumed with eating or thoughts of it. I was vsg on August 27th and slow losing but its coming off. Down total 55 pounds. And getting more committed to exercise.
