Food aware

Recommended Posts

I've found that the sleeve has made me be more aware of the food than before. It isn't like I wasn't aware of food, heck that's all I thought about. But I would mindlessly eat and eat and eat never really enjoying the food or tasting it. It was just a way to shut off or numb my brain. I didn't care the times of day or what I was drinking with my meal. Now I have to be aware to get good nutrition. To eat several times a day or I'll forget to eat at all. I eat slowly and chew well. To get whatever I want to drink before eating. To stop eating or drinking 90 minutes before bed or I will be up with heartburn all night. To never eat before I lay down. Not to overdo it on carbs or sweets especially when I'm out since it makes me sick. To put my fork down between bites. When we go out, I order the best thing on the menu. What looks like it taste the best instead of volume. My whole family eats better now. I don't enjoy eatting out much. Oh and I love soups! How has beeing sleeved changed eating for you?

Prior to the sleeve, I obsessed about food, I loved to cook, I guess my life revolved around when and where I was going to eat. And I LOVED to eat out.

Now, I rarely think about food. I don't really like to cook, but since I"m the best at it in our family, I do it. ugh. I don't really care if we eat out or not -- I do order an entire plate for myself and my husband knows that he's required to eat what's leftover

What has changed is my love affair with Water -- I usually have a couple of cups of coffee in the morning, but then I really want Water. I don't know what it is -- before the sleeve I never thought about drinking very much -- I don't remember feeling like I needed to drink -- I loved drinking soda solely for the taste, but now I just want to drink! weirdness.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
