I was "sleeved" in May of 2009 and never really lost alot of weight (approx. 50lbs total) and now less than 2 years later I am eating alot more food and gaining weight like crazy!!! I think alot of my stomach was left and I want to get re-sleeved

or continue withthe gastric by-pass. Is this possible even though I only need to lose about 50lbs.?

Have you talked to your surgeon about it? He might have more information for you....

Just curious, do you feel like you followed his/her directions?

What makes you think a lot of your stomach was left?

I know that the statistics say you might lose 50% of your overweight with this surgery.... but many seem to lose more...

Thanks for any information, you help others with your insight...

Have you tried the 5 day pouch test?

Good luck with your journey.

I cannot honestly say that I followed all the rules and I could definitely be doing better.

But really bothers me is that I can eat so much and I am hungry all of the time.

The exact 2 things that I was trying to eliminate by having surgery.

I will challenge myself and try the 5 day pouch test - Thanks for that suggestion

i did read on obesity help forum of another person who had a re-sleeve. if i recall correctly she had it done by

dr aceves. her first sleeve was made to big and she never got the benefits from her first operation. do not know if that is your situation but thought you would like to know it has been done. kelly

Yes I read about someone who had her stomach imaged and it was an improper VSG. Her doctor offered to redo the surgery for her after she sent her a picture of the image. She decided after her husband used Dr. Aceves to use him for the revision instead of the initial surgeon.

So I would guess getting the stomach imaged to see if the shape is proper or if it indeed was made incorrectly would be the first step and also it would give another doctor an idea of the ability to have it revised or not.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
