mp8btpc got a reaction from Hannah83 in Anyone smoke weed before or after surgery?
I think it would benefit you from stopping the pot smoking as soon as possible for the sake of the surgery process. I also believe that smoking weed and otherwise constricts blood flow and could possibly hinder the healing process. This was brought up before and I think you might find some people that actually smoked weed post op and you could hit them up on how it worked out for them. My thoughts are if they make people stop smoking cig's before surgery for safety purposes that would probably include weed smoking

mp8btpc got a reaction from inspired in Two weeks post-op enjoying hamburger
    Now Mr. Mike,
Just because you CAN do something doesn't mean you SHOULD do it. The post ops are important in the healing of your stomach. It is also the time to get a grip on starting good habits.
Your stomach was severed into two pieces 14 days ago and is being held together to prevent leaking by staples and possibly sutures....lets think about this. Do you think a hamburger is the food it needs to have shoved into it at this point? Im thinking that's a fat NO.

mp8btpc got a reaction from fluffylibra30 in Anyone taken an appetite suppressant post op?
LoL I know it probably sounded a little askew but I was meaning something that had a little caffeine and some herbs in it for appetite suppression, not some crazy prescription like Phentermine. But I am past it. I will be honest I was emotional and frustrated last night and just throwing it out there in response to my hunger issues. I am a reasonably intelligent person (I think ?) so I just needed a little get your head out of your butt and a little talking down from my perch. I am not going to take the meds. I picked up my PPI again and I popped one this evening before dinner. I busted my ass at gym today. I know I can do it. I got this.

Sorry, I had to throw that out there and get it off my chest. I worry about it a lot. I saw a picture of myself at a concert the summer before surgery and I thought to myself, please dont screw this up self!

mp8btpc got a reaction from ATLGirl in Delicious Pinto Beans!
I love pinto Beans, they are a low fat meal and have a decent amount of Protein. Plus they taste great on a winter day!
I like to make them the day before I plan on eating them, the tastes just seem to marry overnight.
4 cans of pinto beans (I like to buy sun vista or any other mexican food brand)
1/4 of a small white onion diced
1 small clove of garlic minced
    garlic salt to taste
Take your diced onion and garlic and pour a tiny bit of juice from one of the cans of pinto beans into your cooking pan. Sweat them on low for two or three minutes getting them nice and soft. Pour in all the beans and juice from the cans. Cover pan with lid and cook low and slow for 45 minutes. I add garlic salt while cooking usually about two teaspoons. When in a hurry i have cooked a smaller batch on a bit higher of heat for 20 minutes or so and it worked fine for a meal.
After the cook I will have a small bowl and put the rest in the fridge and reheat the next day. They taste even better then.
Lightly brown a couple corn tortillas in a grease free cast Iron skillet and serve up on the side.

So if we keep sipping on Water periodically throughout the day it will keep the pouch full and give the pressure receptors of the stomach the sensation of having had a meal?
I feel hunger it is easily satisfied now though so I don't stress about it. It seems the hungrier I think I am...the less I usually get down before I am full lol.
