Hi,

I just seen on another post at OH that when you get surgery, sometimes you cant tell that you have any restriction and feel like a normal tummy, is that true??

Could you all just give me a idea on how you feel after surgery?

Thanks, Lisa

I have had two weight loss surgeries. I have been able to feel a significant difference in both of them. The sleeve even moreso than the lap band.

I'm not sure what they mean. Your tummy feels the same except that it gets full very quickly. So I would definitely call that "restriction". And of course, many of us have less hunger hormones, so you don't feel like you're starving when eating such small amounts.

You may have been reading from a poster who is only a few days out & still on liquids. Most people don't feel any restriction on liquids. And for some, not on mushies/purees. BUT, when you get to regular foods with Protein first, you will definitely know your stomach is a lot smaller.

I still laugh at the ridiculously small portions that "fill me up" now. For instance, today's lunch was 2 Tortilla chips, the meat and cheese from a small taco, and 1 spoon of refried Beans. That was at 12:00 & 3 hours later I am still satisfied and not wanting my snack.< /p>

I am 3 1/2 weeks out and still on purees and totaly feel restriction, Some times depending on the food it can take me up to an hour to finish 1/2 cup becuase I fill up so fast. When I was still on liquids I did not feel "restricted" because it just goes right through the tummy but I was never really hungry either.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
