two weeks out and results :O(

Recommended Posts

Guys,

Please advise, I only lost 15 lb in 2 weeks and actually gained 1 lb yesterday:(

I see people here have much better results...

Not sure if it is because I still cannot take all the liquid and Protein that is required or i am not doing something. Just want to stay positive and focus all the right things.

Maybe, i am just having one of those days....

OK, so you are losing a pound a day....how's that a bad thing? Would you EVER have lost that much on your own? And how long did it take you to pack on these 15 lbs? I venture to say a lot longer than 2 weeks. As far as comparing yourself to other people - someone who's 300-400 lbs will lose more pounds than you on average, but they also have lots more to lose. So I would step back, look at it rationally, and realize that you are losing VERY fast and there's nothing wrong.

Well, i went for my 10 day post-op and only lost 7 lbs and i actually gained too because i was down 11 and gained 3.8 back the last couple days so i know how your feeling. I would have to lose 8 lbs in the next four days to be where u are, so you are doing better than me...my doc said the first few weeks are up and down because of Fluid loss of retention, we can become dehydrated and lose a couple lbs and then our body holds onto Fluid to compensate, so i guess we need to get over the initial trauma of surger, and be able to drink adequate amts of fluid to determine what our true gains and losses really are...hope that helped...vicki :)

you most deffinatly should not be discouraged with a pound a day that is just awsome. and the first thing you need to do is learn how not to compair courself with others on this board, because we are all very different, we start at different weights and have very different matabolisims and like said about the bigger you are the faster you loose in the begining. I was 212 the day of surgery and only lost 10 pounds the first 2 weeks. Cheer up your doing great!

It was several weeks after surgery before I lost a single ounce. We all start at different places, heal at different rates, etc. You are losing! I think that's awesome. I was one of those who compared myself to others and what a mind %$&*. Worry about your plan, follow the rules given to you and you WILL lose. Best of luck to you.

If its any help when I was 2 weeks out I'd only lost 14lbs.... and my start weight was 208lbs so not far from where you were. It does get better, but also be prepared for stalls etc.. it will shift but you've just put your body thru major surgery, plus add to that the reduced calorie intake /massive change in diet and then you'll start to see results once your body gets used to all that.

Hang in there.... good luck

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
