Hi all,

I do not think I'm eating enough calories so my body is going in starvation mode. Ive been stuck at 600-900 per day. How can I figure out exactly how many calories per day that I need to eat in order to lose weight. My scale has been on 21lbs for a week now. I know it needs to be upped, but I dont want to up it and still be under the amount needed.

Thank you in advance.

I have consistently eaten about 600-800 calories unless I work out, then I try to get 800-900 calories in. You might be experiencing the 3 week stall. That hit for me with a venegance and lasted almost 2 weeks. I just kept on doing what I was doing, and it worked out. Are you keeping your carbs low? That works best for me, if I keep my carbs to 40 or less, and make sure to get my 60 grams of Protein in. That's hard to do early out, but it has worked for me.

I try to do around 900 cal a day, some days more some days less, and am losing weight quite steadily. My body seems to tell me when to stop, I just realised this last night, because after having a few bad days, more than 1000 cal and more than 100 carbs, for the past few days I've only had around 600-700 calories and much less carbs, which is a great thing that never ever happened to me before, I think at last my body is autoregulating.

An average adult woman needs abot 2000 cal a day(depending on level of activity BMI etc) So on a "normal" diet to lose weight around 1200 to 1400 should be enough to lose weight. Obviiously we are in a different category, and I intend to ask my nutritionist on friday what my exact calorie intake should be. as I haven't been given a specific guide caloriewise.

I'm halfway to goal, but seem much smaller than I used to at this weight. Has this happened to anyone else? I'm just thinking that if i get down to my original goal, a BMI of 24 I'll be tiny! Does anyone reading this have any thoughts? I guess I'll just keep trying to lose until I feel comfortable :P

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
