I'm losing, she is stalled

Recommended Posts

Hi everyone,

Got a stall question, more for my wife. We both had the surgery 8 weeks ago. I have lost 65lbs and she has lost 32lbs but has been stalled for about 1-2 weeks it seems. She is getting frustrated as she is seeing me continue to quickly lose but she is just hanging out. I can definately see the inches coming off of her and clothes are getting thrown out left and right. But just not sure what to tell her about starting to get the pounds moving again. Not sure if calories need to be increased or Fluid intake or what. She is getting her Protein in and doing pretty good at exercising. So if you got any help give a shout out.

Thanks!

I would have her up the intensity of her exercise. Find a challenging road with hills or go run the stairs at the local football field. I think just one to two days of high intensity would do the trick. Ive seen people go to the local park that has a slope down into the softball field and walk around it but go up and down the slope as they walk around the park. She can even do it at a slow pace just make the course a little more difficult.

Just an idea.

Everybody is so different. That's the one challenge to doing this as a couple - you have your partner to compare to. On our side it's the opposite - I'm losing faster than my husband. He isn't doing anything wrong that we can see... he exercises less than I do... but his inches seem to be changing more. Tell her to ask herself, when's the last time she was able to lose 32 lbs in 8 weeks? How happy would she be about that, if she weren't comparing herself to you? Hang in there and it will get better!! As for stalling, when I stalled around by 8 week point, I added in a Protein Drink every morning and that really helped me.

If she's throwing out clothes left and right, it sounds like she's right on track. Take her shopping. That usually makes us ladies feel better. :)

Keep up the good work - both of you!:biggrin0:

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
