I'm 3 1/2 weeks post-op and for the last few days, absolutely EXHAUSTED beyond belief! It's like the worst jet-lag I've ever had. Just dragging myself around and haven't even gone to work the last couple of days.

My friend who had a VSG 3 years ago said she had the same thing and that it lasted a few months! I'm getting in plenty of Protein, carbs, good fats, and about 1200-1500 calories a day (fluids too).

Can anyone else relate to this? :)

I had surgery just 3 days after you on 8/20/10 and I have had several days in a row now where I feel the same as you. I am getting a solid 8-9 hours a night yet all I want to do is sleep.Yesterday and today I have forced myself not to take any naps, and forced myself to do housework and run some errands. It is like pushing a truck uphill to even get up the oomphf to cook my family some dinner. I am no where near the same calorie intake as you though so part of my desire for nothing but sleep might be the low calorie part. I am also at the "dreaded stall" as well.

I think my body is finally catching up to what I did to it 3 weeks ago and is rebelling. It will work itself out eventually, I just want it to be sooner rather than later.

Strangely enough I think going out and getting some exercise first thing in the day helps with overall energy level. You may still want a nap later but you will have more energy. That is at least in my experience.

That and time.

Make sure you are taking B12 and Iron, as exhaustion could be a symptom of anemia.

i was told we might not asorb the B12 like we did presurgery therefore the injection was recommended but if your levels are all ok then the Protein might need to be higher.Take care.:laugh0:

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
