18 hours post op - photos

Hi All,

I thought some people might appreciate seeing photos of how you are rigged up once back on the ward.

I know that I wondered how many dressings and tubes I would have, so here you go. This is me feeling pretty darned good for the morning after.

Pics are: Me and my morphine button!

Drips in left arm

Tummy dressings

Sexy inflatable boots giving me a massage

Amount of Water I'm allowed per hour

Hope this helps someone! :)

Hilarious!

Thanks so much for posting your pictures. Its so helpful and I'm due to be sleeved in London in 3 weeks !!!!

I hope the rest of your recovery continues to go well.

Take care

Sue

I was sleeved on Sept 7 I had the boot things but no drop for meds or no drains I had one cut which was in side of my belly button and It doesn't even hurt anymore:) slept on my tummy last night without any discomfort. I know everyone is different and different surgeons use different methods so everyones story and experiences may not apply to you unless your using the same Dr.

Good point, I guess my pics don't apply to everyone.

Glad you're recovering so well :thumbup1:

New pic @ 5 days post op. The bruising has surfaced, but the drain hole looks a lot less gross than I expected :thumbup1:

Wow you did bruise a bit but those are healing nicely. I was allergic to every type of tape and band aid I tried so I had big red itchy areas of skin around mine. Stopped wearing bandages two weeks ago and finally fading.

I'm glad you posted the pics, I've been wondering what it was like. It's good to see you are smiling! Hopefully one day I'll be there! Congrats!

hows ure post op diet going Twostep?

Hey Deets,

Not too bad. I was cleared for puree from day 2, so I've not had the liquid diet some of you guys have been talking about. I've been keeping it runny though, so creamed Soups, yoghurt, warmed up baby food with some stock added to make it more runny, mushed up weetabix with plenty of milk, that kinda thing.

I had three people, my boyfriend included, tell me today that I have noticably lost weight already! Yay! :scared0: I knew all this gas pain would be worth it! LOL.

Hi TwoStepsBack,

I'm happy to hear you are well.

I was sleeved the same day as you with Dr.Aceves.

Funny how we have different Drs. but I noticed on your pics that we have the same exact bruise. I also have a bruise the same size to the right and a little below my belly button where there is no incision.

That's funny. Wonder what that's from? Just curious.

Yeah I wondered what that was. I had this funny thought that maybe Mr Van den Bossche had rested his knee on my belly to give him some leverage when pulling my removed stomach out!

Funny that you've got the same thing. I'd be interested to know what it is too.
