Jane...you're absolutely right. I was reflecting the other day on how much LESS stressful everyday life is without all of those little worries that most people never even think about or have ever had to worry about.

I think the best word I can come up with to describe it is that it's just so LIBERATING!

Btw...I hit the halfway mark yesterday...and today down another lb...so I'm over the hump and on the way downhill....woohoo!

Wow, awesome job... I cant' wait to post those same things. I'm currently waiting on my insurance to approve my sleeve, but they had told me there would be no problem. I am loving this site and loving all the positive stuff people are filling it with. Keep up the good work!

Thanks coreyandbrett and welcome to the boards!

These boards were an absolute pleasure to dig through when I was pre-op.

I just couldn't get enough information. It really helped as I felt I knew exactly what to expect post-op. There were no surprises....except I really WAS surprised at how easy my recovery was.

Great work! I seem to be on the 2-3 week stall followed by 2 weeks of loss thing too.. I have stopped worrying about it as long as the 2 weeks of loss do come around. I secretly had hopes of hitting my goal in new record time when I began with all the running I do--but it does not seem to make a huge difference. The good news is that I get so many other benifits from the exercise, I am going to stick to it.

Well Done Goodlife!!

I am 9 weeks post op now and I think I have the same pattern of losing 2 weeks out of the month, glad to see that I am in good company...

Thanks for putting your stats our, you have made me realise that I am not doing it properly... you maybe wondering how on earth I can get it wrong, but I forgot to include TWO legs and TWO arms, so I am going to have to add mine up ... and of course that will mean that I have lost more inches that I orginally thought.... YEY and THANK YOU!!

x

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
