  1. I'm having trouble drinking the three shakes a day, plus water, and food. I've looked at some protein pills, some say how much protein is in them and some don't. Has any found any protein pills that are worth purchasing?
  2. I'm just a week out and the heartburn was killing me. I'm taking over the counter prilosec, but my doctor said they would do a prescription med if they had too. If it doesn't work call ur doctor. I'm no mushy foods and I feel like it just sits in my throat for a couple of hours before it goes on down, idk. i'm use to get me a drink of water to help things move on, but you can't do that, I did the other day and thought I was gonna die. I hope it gets better for you.
  3. What does your doctor say? And also do you have alot of weight to lose? I've got about 200 left to lose now, I was sleeved Friday (10-8) and have lost 16 lbs. and, lost 18 on post op diet. I don't want to lose my weight as fast as I'm losing it either, but I've been sick the last two days with vomitting and diarrhea. Are you scales accurate? I went and bought a brand new digital set and paid quite a bit for them. I'm just like you, I say, "I'm not weighing today," but let me walk past the scale early in the morning and I'm on them, lol. You may get up one morning and have dropped 4 or 5. Keep doing what you know is right and talk to your doctor about it, seems to me that is all you can do at this point. DON'T GET DISCOURAGED!!!!!
  4. I was sleeved Friday and mine has been more pain to me than the surgery. My doctor said, as I lose weight it should get better and I should take prilosec or some liquid medicine. I'm taking malox right now. I think it will get better as the weight continues to come off.
  5. Dr. Mark Gibbs in Little Rock. He's super nice and I love all his nurses.
  6. Becca...I can't wait to do this! My dreams are about to come true. I've battled with my weight all my life and now others could look at me and say.."man i wished I looked that good."

  8. Is anyone else getting sleeved Friday? I am excited but nervous....and I must say the 2 week liquid diet is awful. I had horrible headaches the first couple of days and then my GERD (acid reflux) got horrible. Had to triple my medicine to calm it down. My husband comes home yesterday and tells me that his co-worker told him that he better tell me he loves me before I go into surgery. Okay, why did he tell ya that? Because another co-workers mom had the bypass done and never recovered from it and died 8 months later. I'm thinking gee thanks. I know he loves me, but it did get me to thinking the what if. I was nervous enough, dang! Wishing anyone else getting theirs good luck and I haven't weighed during my liquid stage, so I have no ideal how much I've lost.
  9. I don't know how easy a medical loan is, but I've noticed several on here have went to a doctor in Mexico for the surgery. It is almost as cheap as my co-pay was. I went and looked at their website and it's a really nice center. If your money is tight, you might want to consider that. Just get on here and read what some of the ones that went Mexico have written and check it out closely before making a decision.
  10. I'm gettin sleeved October 8th in Arkansas. My pre-op diet is full liquids for two weeks. I am struggling on my 4th day. Had severe headaches, nausea, and my reflux is horrible. I've double my reflux medicine and it has helped. We're all gonna make it, we just have to put our minds to it and picture ourselves in those little skinny people clothes, lol. Good luck to all of you!!
  11. Well, the liquids have started, yuck! My surgery date is October 8th, so liquid diet for two weeks. I'm on day 4 and really struggling. I've had migraines, nausea, chest pains, and reflux. I've got GERD disease and it really hates all the protein shakes and liquids. I've double my acid medicine and it still hasn't stopped it, but I'm gonna make it, this has been my dream for about 3 years now. Nothing is gonna stop me from making my dreams come true!! Anyone else have the same date as me??:001_tt2:
  12. I posted on nutrition forum and no one has answered. My nurse was suppose to send me my liquid diet directions that I am suppose to start in the a.m. She sent the wrong form and I can not get a hold of her. If someone has this, can they send me a list of things I can have on a full liquid pre-op diet? I'm sure most are the same. Thank you and btw my big day is October 8th!!!!
