Zephra I can totally relate to that. We always have food at work and I am not looking forward to being coaxed to eat - especially when I have always eaten alot, and then I won't be able to.

Question - when the food smells good, does it make you feel hungry?

I don't know if it is hunger or desire but I want it bad and I have to tell myself why I can't have it over and over cause...I don't always want to listen the first few times.

I am looking back at what I just wrote and realizing that more than half the time I eat, it isn't because I am hungry. Wow - I keep getting these lightbulb moments. I wonder how long it takes to re-program your brain!:001_rolleyes:

My suggestion: put your family on a "root hog or die" meal plan for a while : )

google it: Davy Crockett used the phrase and Western frontiersmen were often in dire economic straits and had to root around for whatever they needed to survive.

Ok, maybe a bit drastic but you get the point : ) It won't kill them to eat pb & j for a couple of weeks, dine on frozen dinners (there is a great variety out there) or eat pizza. Maybe they can eat what mom eats and take up healthier habits also?? When my older two kids were little and I was a single mom, I made their plates with a variety of sandwich type makings, fruit, etc - and then let them decide how to eat it. Item by item or as a sandwich. They thought it was fun.

I will admit that I have only cooked a couple of times in the past four months, and most every time has been for a party we were having at home. My husband is an excellent cook and my 15 year old daughter knows the above saying well. She knows the basics about cooking and eats alot of bagel sandwiches and salads.

Good Luck! Enjoy your mushies!

That is pretty much how my family eats now. I have not cooked since a week before the surgery. I secretly admit I love not cooking. And next time we go visit my in-laws, I will be sure to bring something I can eat.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
