I think it will really depend on how you recover. I personally didn't have the energy to be up and moving for more then 15 to 20 minutes at a time. But other people recover sooner and can do alot more. maybe having a Protein Shake before leaving the house will help your energy level for the play.

I'ts true, some people are up and about in only a few days post surgery. Much of this depends upon how your surgery goes for you individually. I hope you will be able to make the show....that would be great!

Well I really hope you can make it. I had a pretty easy recovery but I was still pretty weak and sore on day 3. You figure though.... a lot of us that go to Mexico fly home on day 3 or 4. If you have somebody drive you there and it's not too long it could be doable.

good luck

I was still a little sore standing up at 3 days out, but was also out grocery shopping (just not lifting much) at that point also. Hard telling ahead of time how you'll feel, but you've got a good chance of being able to make it! :crying:

It really does depend on your healing process.

However, I've learned there is nothing like the inner-strength of a mother. Especially when she is watching one of her kids go through a major milestone. Just line someone up to transport you & take it easy. You should do fine. But, plan on lots of rest before and after the event - don't overdo it.

Thank you all so very much for all your advise. I have just put my mind to it and told myself I can do it. She is my youngest of 4 and dont want to miss out on anything my kids do. I'll make sure to get plenty of rest before and have my husband drive. Thanks again Randi

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
