:crying:Hey Gang, thanks for your prayers & thoughts. I made it through surgery without a hitch. I thought I was home free...until they took away the morphine. I was doing soul train walks down the hallways around 3am LOL. I'm home and was sent with tylenol w/codine. I'm in pain. Don't know if I'm just wimping out or need something more for tonight? Any thoughts out there???:biggrin0: Happy Destiny

You probably don't know anyone who has it. But, oxycontin sustained release really helped me. I need to take it for my back.

I was sore for a couple of days and took my pain meds. I don't think there is any shame in taking them. I know I kind of felt like I shouldn't need them because I read others didn't need them. We are all different so if you need them for a few days take it. It does get better!

Are you trying to scare me for my surgery on Tuesday? I hope everything went well. I have been thinking about you for a couple of days. I don't know what you are going through yet, but I know that you are a strong woman, and you can handle anything! Keep me posted on your progress.

Sorry to hear about your pain. I also had a lot more pain than I was expecting. But, the good news is that it does get better each day. If you find you need more medication, don't be afraid to call your surgeon and ask for it. Hopefully, you don't need it as much today.

By all means, I did not mean to scare you! It has gotten better, much better in fact. You're going to do awesome! Today is day 3, Friday. And yes I still have some pain, but nothing like the first day home! Remember to sip, sip, sip and walk. The most help I've needed is in getting out of bed. p.s. They will give you a log sheet with 15 min increments to log your Protein, pain meds, etc. I asked for a few extras to help me keep on top of things. They're very nice & helpful at Forest Park surgery center. Is that where you'll be going? Let me know and try not to stress. When I came out of surgery and that first night felt like a cake walk due to the morphine:001_tt2:. But honestly I feel pretty good, one day a a time! :thumbup1:

I was one of the lucky ones. Hardly any pain, and feel great now. I'm at the 1 week mark. I have my experience posted if you want to read about it. Everyone's pain level is different. You'll do great! Best wishes.

Some friends gave me a little stuffed bear and I have used him as a splint to press against my left lower abdomen when getting up and walking around. For some reason that is where the worst pain is. He has helped a lot and I also used him as a baby pillow under my tummy to help be able to sleep on my right side. Can't lay on my left side yet. Pain is much better starting about day 6 have used a lot less pain med. He also helped splint my tummy when doing the deep breathes and coughing exercises. Don't forget to cough and deep breathe!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
