I am 4 weeks post-op now. I have lost a total of 31 lbs (including pre-op diet). I am slightly concerned because I have not lost anything in the last week. Then, this morning I got on the scale and have gained 0.8 lbs. Is this normal??? I know you're not necessarily going to lose weight every single day, but the fact it's been a week and then I gained...scares me a bit. Any feedback would be appreciated.

Try adding 50-100 calories a day for a couple days then go back to 600, then go back up. You really have to trick your body, give it more fuel, give it more Water. Try getting in a Protein snack to boost calories.

It'll break, and you'll start losing again.

Protein is really important. Maybe this week add a little Protein Powder to the other stuff you eat and drink and see if that helps. Every week we want to con the scales out of more pounds, so we gotta keep changing our tricks. Your body is used to the current diet, the 600 calories and current activity level. Every time you get stuck, try changing the activity, the calories or the make up of the food a little. Let me know what happens next week.

The same thing happened to me after two weeks. i went 6 days without losing, but now i am back to losing just under a lb a day again. I think this is quite common, but I know first hand how it makes you nervous, like 'am I every going to lose again? You'll be fine, just need to be patient.

If you are exercising the same is true about shocking your system. If right now you walk 30 min a day on the treadmill, mix it up by walking 10 min running 2 walking 10 running 2. Or by using a whole new muscle group. Also, I have a horrible habit of leaving my scale in my kitchen, sometimes I will step on it 6 times a day and the variance througout a a single day is mind boggling. So hypocrite speaking here...have one day with a set time and a plan of whether or not you've eaten or drank first and then weigh!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
