i have wanted to leave this forum a few times myself...but what i figured out is one thing...i was the one who had the surgery for me....and its up to me to use it as advised by my dr.

you are bound to get a zillion he said/she said/they said and what is right and what is wrong....but what it boils down to is listening to YOUR own doctor...some have had WLS longer than some...that does not make them experts or better than one who has just had surgery or is a yr out or whatever......the expert is a persons doctor who operated on them..and that opinion is the only one that matters...

since this new site come up, some threads on the band forum have come to the attention of the bypass/sleeve groups but not for good reasons...makes me embarrassed...i truly feel that not all banders act/post threads like that or are in your face with their vision...at least not me..

to leave lets whomever win

so block them and move on....its not worth it....and def not

worth responding or going back and forth...that is exactly what they want.

better things to think about...like what is for lunch

I'm with you carolinagirl! (But if they want to leave why do these folks need to tell everyone about it? Why not just leave?)

Well at the time I was overly sensitive because I was emotional from everything. I admit it. I wasnt looking to be "coddled" I was looking to see if anyone was having the same issues which my issue turned out to be my band flipped itself which I had a second surgery today to fix it. Not looking for anyone to feel sorry for me. I have a mother for that I was just looking for someone who had gone through the same thing or if anyone has gone through it and had to get a revise and could give me some advise that would be great cause I havent heard of it happening to very many people. Anyways have a fantastic day!

Flouncers gotta flounce.

In Micki's case, I get the impression she was a bit overwhelmed and let that rule her fingers for a spell. It's happened to me. Micki, I'm glad that your issue was solved and you are feeling a little cooler headed. Heal soon and good luck with the rest of your journey. :D

Glad to know you were able to have your port fixed. Continued success with the lapband.

Good that everything turned out okay. We all (including the surgeons) have an off day now & then. Hopefully not many, but I've learned not to jump too quick with my replies.

Wishing you all a wonderful Thanksgiving and lots of leftovers! :P

When we give up the food we learn ,often the hard way, about all those emotions we covered up by eating. Some people need therapy as well as weight loss surgery.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

Iʻm roughly 6 weeks post-op this morning and have begun to feel like a normal human, with a normal human body again. I started introducing solid foods and pill forms of medications/supplements a couple of weeks ago and it's really amazing to eat meals with my family again, despite the fact that my portions are so much smaller than theirs.
I live on the island of Oʻahu and spend a lot of time in the water- for exercise, for play,  and for spiritual & mental health. The day I had my month out appointment with my surgeon, I packed all my gear in my truck, anticipating his permission to get back in the ocean. The minute I walked out of that hospital I drove straight to the shore and got in that water. Hallelujah! My appointment was at 10 am. I didn't get home until after 5 pm.
I'm down 31 pounds since the day of surgery and 47 since my pre-op diet began, with that typical week long stall occurring at three weeks. I'm really starting to see some changes lately- some of my clothing is too big, some fits again. The most drastic changes I notice however are in my face. I've also noticed my endurance and flexibility increasing. I was really starting to be held up physically, and I'm so grateful that I'm seeing that turn around in such short order.
My general disposition lately is hopeful and motivated. The only thing that bugs me on a daily basis still is the way those supplements make my house smell. So stink! But I just bought a smell proof bag online that other people use to put their pot in. My house doesn't stink anymore.
