About 7 years ago I put aside a pair of pants that I loved, proclaiming that I would wear them again someday! They sat buried in a dresser drawer, packed, unpacked, repacked and unpacked through 5 moves! Always in the back of my mind the thought was there, why am I holding onto these? My weight sky rocketed through the years and I finally had lost hope that they would ever fit again.

Today, I wore these pants to work (amazingly enough they are still in style) and bittersweet as it is, this may be the only time that I get to wear them as they are a touch too big. I cried for a few minutes this morning. Tears of accomplishment, tears of pride, tears of letting go. I think the hardest part of this journey is the mental challenge! Today though, the proof was in the pants!

Oops, anyway, they are motivation to stick to this " diet". Go for my first fill next week and I hope to remove the word diet

I have a few items that I "loaned" to a friend with the understanding that when I could get back in them, she had to give them back. I can't wait to collect them from her!

Yay for you! And I completely understand. I have a pair of jeans and a dress that I've kept too.

Congrats what a awesome accomplishment I had a pair of Jean I brought last winter and because of the cut of them I couldn't fit then when I got home leaving the tags on them I refused to return them telling myself I will wear these Jeans one day well that day came and passed without me knowing when I decided to pull these Jeans out they were now too big the Jeans were a size 16 and I had not realize that I was currently down to a size 10 what a bitter sweet moment

I have gone clothes shopping in my own closets several times in the past 6 months. Was out in my storage shed last week and found a large box and opened it to find it full of pants that I had not been able to wear in 2 or more years. Tried them all on and then realized I needed to go through the closet and get rid of the bigger ones so I would have room for the smaller ones. So, took the bigger ones to goodwill yesterday. Letting go is hard to do! Well, not so with bigger pants. Found a suit that is nearly 30 years old and I can now wear it. Style! that is another issue. Best of luck on your journey!

Hooray for you! I hope cargo pants never go out of style...I love them and they compliment the feminine figure very well!

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

Iʻm roughly 6 weeks post-op this morning and have begun to feel like a normal human, with a normal human body again. I started introducing solid foods and pill forms of medications/supplements a couple of weeks ago and it's really amazing to eat meals with my family again, despite the fact that my portions are so much smaller than theirs.
I live on the island of Oʻahu and spend a lot of time in the water- for exercise, for play,  and for spiritual & mental health. The day I had my month out appointment with my surgeon, I packed all my gear in my truck, anticipating his permission to get back in the ocean. The minute I walked out of that hospital I drove straight to the shore and got in that water. Hallelujah! My appointment was at 10 am. I didn't get home until after 5 pm.
I'm down 31 pounds since the day of surgery and 47 since my pre-op diet began, with that typical week long stall occurring at three weeks. I'm really starting to see some changes lately- some of my clothing is too big, some fits again. The most drastic changes I notice however are in my face. I've also noticed my endurance and flexibility increasing. I was really starting to be held up physically, and I'm so grateful that I'm seeing that turn around in such short order.
My general disposition lately is hopeful and motivated. The only thing that bugs me on a daily basis still is the way those supplements make my house smell. So stink! But I just bought a smell proof bag online that other people use to put their pot in. My house doesn't stink anymore.
