Food Monitors

I can't stand it. I am on a 1200 calorie diet and certain people in my family feel the need to tell me I am eating too much. Apparently my weight loss says I am not. They don't want to know about my weight loss. Also I haven't had my first fill yet.

Anyone else have this problem and how did you handle it?

Well, you're doing it for you not them! I'm on 1500 a day so I can imagine how your family members would tell me I was eating way too much lol! I'm losing weight, you're losing weight so what's the problem? Just keep doing what you're doing and let your scale speak for you. Unless your family has degrees in baristric medicine what do they know?

I've said this before and I'll say it again be selfish! This is for you and no one else. As long as you're following the rules and losing weight with 1200 calories then good for you! You know what works for you so don't let anyone get you down. Best wishes to you!

I'm very blunt and sarcastic by nature, so I warned those close to me right away: What I eat or don't eat is my business. Unless you want to be stabbed with a fork, keep your criticisms and suggestions to yourself. I got this.

When I first had my surgery, everyone at work would come in the lunch room to see what I was eating until one day I had had enough. I told them this is my journey and none of you need to keep monitoring my food. I got up and shut the door in their faces and that was that.

Wow good for you. I doubt I could do that. I've changed over the years. I have become much quieter and don't say what I feel.

I used to be more out going. Now I am not. I always say what I feel or need to. Why should I hold the burden? Also I don't care what people think that helps.

Everyone is different. My husband is like you Shazam. Don't beat yourself up it takes all kinds.

My hubby tried to be my food monitor for years. He's better now that I am at goal.

I think I'd ask them where they did their lapband diet research, and how many calories I should be eating. Or if asked if I should be eating something, say well yes, I am eating it, and I am losing. Or that no foods are on or off my diet. My band journey is about moderation. I can eat all foods. Foods are not good or bad, they just are. I'd ask, "when did you speak with my surgeon about my food plan?"

Then again, I might say my band is my food monitor, thank you for your concern. :P

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
