You're still in the healing stage, not the weight loss stage. Your weight will fluctuate for the first couple of months, most likely. Concentrate more on just letting your body heal up for the first 6 weeks. Have you even had the band filled yet? Try not to let this get you down. You're literally JUST starting. Hang in there.

I agree... you are in the healing phase. If you are measuring and tracking your food, the scales will catch up. Try My FItness Pal online for tracking.

Hang in there and if you can, don't pay attention to the scale. I lost weight VERY slowly at first, but it's normal. As others will tell you, this is a time for healing. The weight loss will come. Good luck.

Hi! I am 5 weeks postop and I still struggle with watching the scale stay the same or go up and down constantly. I feel unsuccessful. However, I will believe what everyone else is saying and I'm going to accept their advice and band knowledge with open arms. I cannot wait to lose at least five pounds. That would make me very happy!

Remember that Water weighs over 8 pounds per gallon. Depending on where you happen to be in a hydration cycle, its very easy to be 4 lbs. "over" what you think you should be. When you step on a scale, you are only seeing a snapshot of your weight as it fluctuates over the course of a day.

I am at week 6 now. I did not lose anything from week 2 - 4. Now I am losing approx 2 pounds a week. No fill yet. And this week because of that TOM coming I actually gained 5 pounds. But as soon as it ended it went away. Dont be discouraged!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
