Question - Diarrhea :(

Recommended Posts

Hi all - sorry for the graphic nature of this post. I had what seemed like diarrhea today. No pain or discomfort - just liquid. I called the doctor and he said since I am 4 days post op and on a liquid diet then bowel movements can be liquid and not to worry. Just wondering if anyone has experienced this?

The antibiotic I was prescribed after surgery gave me issues. Once I finished taking it, no problems and I was still on a liquid diet.< /p>

Yup, you're perfectly normal! The main thing is to keep yourself hydrated. You may want to get some sugar free. Gatorade to help keep your electrolytes balanced. If it keeps up though, definitely give your doctor another call.

I had it during the first couple of weeks after surgery as well. The explosive kind!! It lasted about 2-3 days, and then stopped. It was different than any diarrhea I'D ever experienced.

Yes indeed! That is what I experienced as well. At least there was no pain or discomfort. Thanks for responding!!

I didn't have any pain, either. Now, I struggle with the opposite issue

Yes. Definitely had that! Now, I wish I had just a little of that regularity.

Oh ya. Had them real bad and didn't always make into the bathroom. It is gross but life. Now I take meds to go. Weird!!

First time I actually used the throne in that way (without any additional help) was yesterday, and my surgery was on July 20th, so nine days later. It wasn't diarrhea, it was normal but YELLOW... No color at all. I was weirded out. LoL

I would have given my kingdom for some diarrhea I had the other problem and almost 6 months later often still do.

I miss the "regular" days. I realize we aren't eating as much (and/or just liquid) but I miss the good, healthy regularity... SO today I added a heaping tablespoon of ground Flax seed to my Protein Shake (that I blend with only Almond Milk in a Magic Bullet) and I'm hoping that doing this in every Protein shake will quickly get me back to a healthy regular. Fingers crossed!

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
