I started at age 42- 210 pounds- got surgery right after my 43rd birthday and have lost 43 pounds as of Sunday. It is the best thing I have done for myself in years!

What are you getting into? A new journey to help your health and live longer. I know that is what happened to me. I am off all my pre-band meds and it's supper

Buying clothes in "normal" sizes not plus departments. That is fun. Fitting into plane seats etc.

You are doing great by taking the first baby steps to improve life's qualities.

I'm 41 and had it last year. Started at 266, now 180something... Down at least 80, maybe more. DEFINITELY the best thing I've ever done. Not hard. It feels natural. You will be able to eat again, and it's surprisingly natural.

Age 43, 5.1" @200lbs first appt on july 22, 2013. And scared. :-/ I want this. What am I getting in to?

Here's what you're getting into. a whole new way of eating/dealing with food. small portions, very very limited fast food/processed food/high calorie food...fried is a no-no, sodium is limited...you really must comit to a healthier lifestyle. if you don't, you will not succeed with the band any better than any other weight loss attempt you've made. You can also cause complications if you are not compliant. Now...if you are truly ready and want this, the rewards will be great. Just read posts from those who are successful and you will see what I'm talking about. good luck on your journey.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
