I had lap band w/ plication on Tuesday the 24th and I just want to know what others who have had the same procedure are doing. How has your weight loss and food consumption been?

going well

the food consumption is (fine) although i dont know what you mean by that...i eat my allotted amounts and have not pb'd, slime, got stuck or came across anything i cant eat...i have done a 100% turnaround from what i use to eat to a totally different lifestyle (thanks to the band/plication) and the motivation it gave me to make myself well..it is just a (helper) and if we help it, the success is there for the taking.......congrats on your surgery.....pm me anytime if you have questions :)

I have gotten stuck and PB'd before. Most times it's my own fault for taking too big a bite. It's a learning process!

I figured as much and I think it will happen to everyone at some point but to learn from the mistakes and utilize those lessons in the future.

Lapband with plication in Dec '12. Have had five fills but don't know the amount as I didn't want to focus on that number. I have gotten stuck, but I know it's from not properly chewing.

I'm down 71 lbs with no pre-op required. I eat under 1100 calories per day. I need to exercise more as that's always been my issue. I think the advantage the plication gave me is that I've never been "starving". I don't feel like I experienced "bandster hell" before getting fills.

Good luck to you!

Plication is a relatively new procedure. You can get it done at the same time as getting the Lapband or alone. Basically the stomach is folded in upon itself and then stitched. Doing that reduces the size of your stomach but is reversible unlike the sleeve procedure.

I had the lap band with plication surgery on 7/18/13, and I'm feeling great! I have had a lot of hunger pangs though, which was quite a surprise to me. I am on full liquids for two weeks following my surgery, but that includes Soups that have been blended in the blender. Looking forward to mushies on Thursday though! I haven't had trouble with anything so far. Went to my post-op appointment yesterday, and I'm down about 20 pounds from when I started the liquid diet on 7/8. I really wanted the plication too, so I hope it helps a lot! It's nice to see other people on here who have had the same procedure. Thanks for starting this topic!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
