Recommended Posts

Not to be gross.. I do brush, floss and use mouth wash. My mother said I never had this before.....

Has anyone had this or heard of it?

High Protein levels in the body cause the body to go into ketosis which is just fat burning. I do believe it causes bad breath so that could be the problem I don't know for sure though just a thought you could look into it.

Going on a low carb diet like Atkins causes bad breath because of ketosis. If you are only doing Protein Shakes this could be the reason.

Early in my WLS venture, I did notice a body odor coming off of me. My husband never said anything, but I could tell. I thought it was odd, because I wasn't eating anything. It's probably due to what is mentioned above; ketosis. I don't remember bad breath specifically, but I did notice a change. It only lasted a short while, and I'm back to my beautiful smelling self :P

I have a sour taste in my mouth after drinking Protein Shakes. But I don't know why. When I go for my two week follow up, I will ask the doc.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
