Ok, I will be spending 3 hours at the gym today. I'm loving the gym, love it and plus it's hurricaine season so it's a good thing I joined b/c now I can't ride my bike as much. Today was my 35 mile day but it's going to thunderstorm here per the weather cast.

Hey Everyone... Happy Sunday!

Sun is not what it was in the Sunshine state today!!!! We really needed the rain so I really didn't mind.

Went to the gym today for the bodyworks/Ab class. I did better.... I made it through and to me that is what counts. I don't want to hurt myself.

Have a great evening... I'm going to watch the Heat beat the Mav's!!!!

Stationary Bike - 30 min

Update to what was actually done yesterday:

Arc Trainer 1 hour

Treadmill 30 minutes

Total calories burned, 855 calories

Only spent 1.5 hours doing cardio :kiss :bored Once I got 30 minutes into the arc trainer I was in some serious pain and sweat. I didn't think I'd make it :D

Oh yeah and there's a woman who works at Gold's, she's the reception girl, probably about 5ft 7 and weighed around 250lbs. She looks at me as I grab me keys to leave and says, "Dude! You lasted longer on those machines than I do, GOOD JOB! That's impressive." :tired I guess she thought I was this porker that couldn't hang with the best of em huh?:tired :)

Plans for today:

06/12/2006

Well, it's raining cats and dogs so I will run on the treadmill for 4 miles tonight.

06/13/2006

10 - 10:30 appt with Personal Trainer at Gold's Gym

10:30 - 11:30 Arc Trainer

Tellymelly..........YOU ARE MY IDOL!!! I have really enjoyed reading your replys and you are very motivating!! I have been an athlete my whole life but an overweight one. I played college softball and struggled with my weight all 4 years. I have lost 48lbs since being banded on 4-3-06 and my energy level has sky rocketed! I was doing 35-40 min of cardio and thought that was good UNTIL I read your exercise thread one day. Because of that I am now doing an hour!! I switch off each day from the treadmill and the eliptic (can't spell it or pronounce it) machine. THanks for your encouragement. We are both in the thirtysomething and had surgery around the same time, I can't believe your goal! I hope to be down to 200lbs by CHristmas maybe I should shoot for my 33rd birthday (OCtober)! My husband is very supportive and my 5year old daughter wants to know where the weight has gone. (Did I throw in the trash.........from the mouths of babes!!) Good luck to your goal, if anyone can do it will be you!!!!!!!!!

Haha, wow Jenn,

You are too sweet and it sounds like you and I both have been through similar things. I was an athlete prior to child bearing. I will hit goal even if it's not August, which I am trying to be realistic knowing it's a major probability.

You are doing terrific. Not too many people can do cardio for more than an hour so I give you props for that.

Would be great if you posted here daily... such as myself, doc, niche and tricia. We all need to counter-motivate one another. God knows I need it.

I will post daily or at least weekly!! Todays work out I did an hour on the EM, 2 sets of 35 on the arm press and some other arm machine. 3 sets of 30 situps. I know I should really know the names of these machines, it's amazing how much you forget in 10 years of not working out with a trainer or coach. Good Luck Girls!!!!!!!!!!!!!

On day 4 of the 2 week liquid pre-op diet. Surgery scheduled for June 11th.
Soooo I am coming to a realization
of something and I'm not sure what to do about it. For years the only thing I've enjoyed is eating. We rarely do anything or go anywhere and if we do it always includes food. Family comes over? Big family dinner! Go camping? Food! Take a short ride or trip? Food! Holiday? Food! Go out of town for a Dr appointment? Food! When we go to a new town we don't look for any attractions, we look for restaurants we haven't been to. Heck, I look forward to getting off work because that means it's almost supper time. Now that I'm drinking these pre-op shakes for breakfast, lunch, and supper I have nothing to look forward to.  And once I have surgery on June 11th it'll be more of the same shakes. Even after pureed stage, soft food stage, and finally regular food stage, it's going to be a drastic change for the rest of my life. I'm giving up the one thing that really brings me joy. Eating. How do you cope with that? What do you do to fill that void? Wow. Now I'm sad.

Three months and four days ago... I was in Costa Rica having a life changing surgery! Yesterday we had a followup visit with Dr. Esmeral via video chat and this morning my middle number changed.  I'm down 47lbs and two pants sizes. I can wear a Large tshirt for the first time in like... 14 years! Woot!! Everything is going great. I have zero regrets. I went down to the riverwalk with a friend and walked 2 miles on Monday without even getting fatigued. And no more snoring or chugging pickle juice for crazy leg cramps! I need to go to the gym more... I'm making new shirts next week so that will motivate me. LOL But I'm also just not as TIRED all the time! I have a LONG way to go...but seeing the progress on the scales and in the mirror is a huge motivator!! Thank you all for cheering me on and supporting me!!
