3 weeks Post-op, Hungry?

Recommended Posts

Hello! I wanted to ask if it is normal to feel, well, the same as you did before you got the band, hunger wise? I feel as hungry as I did before surgery, and I hope this is normal. I've never thrown up or seriously over eaten, and did well on my post-op diet. Help?? Thanks everyone!

Welcome to bandster hell. Until you get a few fills, you may feel no restriction. This is perfectly normal. Stick to the alloted portion sizes and drink lots of fluids!

I ate pretty normally after I got banded. I focused on healing first and diet later. It's hard to live like your band is working when it's not yet. Don't get discouraged. If I gave you a car and told you to drive it somewhere you would look at me like I was crazy if it didn't have gas in it yet. You have the car now you need to get some gas to start your journey. Good luck!

YES!! I actually wondered a night this week if there was really a band in me. I was eating sushi and thought I should be full now, ok now I should feel full, no really I should stop now and realized maybe I should listen to my brain!!!

I think I need a fill to get my band and my brain on the same page.

I'm 6 months post op and I'm still in bandster hell but with the help of my fitness pal I'm doing OK.

I know that when I go for my fill in August I will be where I should be. My doctor is extremely conservative with fills. I don't want to be overfilled so I'm OK with that.i'm also glad that my surgeon does my fills so he is on top of any complications that might occur.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
