Oh I feel so sorry for you, yes I had the left shoulder gas pain too, it is not fun! I didn't think it would EVER go away but finally it did. I was banded on 5/29 and started feeling really good about 14 days post op. Hang in there it will go away but sometimes you don't think it will. Are you walking? Try moving and sleeping upright I did and that did seem to help. I was walking everyday and my shoulder gas pain was still not going away but on about the 14th day I woke up and it was long gone! Good luck!

Oh it's been a year and I remember that pain, it's awful. What helped me was Gas-X strips, since you can't swallow the big pills, the strips were a lifesaver. I also used ice packs when it got unbearable.

Good luck, you'll get through this hump :)

It's called referred pain. Your body just defaults a lot of times to making the back of your shoulder hurt instead of giving you pain in your body. You can google referred pain for more info.

My heating pad saved me when I had that nasty shoulder pain...mine lasted around 2 weeks, so hang in there, it will get better, I promise. Best Wishes :)

That my dear is gas, you must walk it off and walk and walk and walk. You can try some Gas-X to alleviate it but walking and moving your arms around as much as possible are going to be your ally, good luck!

That is gas pain, they inflate your abdomen with CO2 during surgery in order to do procedure laparosically. Gas in left shoulder is very common. I had the gas in my left shoulder after about 4 days postop, and it's worse after drinking or after eating. It will get better! Took mine 10-14 days to go away. It will pass.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
