Ok' date=' so it wasn't so bad. I was doing my research to calm my nerves when I found out that I had the option of taking the course online. I called and cancelled my in person appointment, and just did it online. Looks like the ball is starting to roll. I filled out the questionaire at the end, and contacted the coordinator. I'm just waiting now on my evaluation appointment. I should have an appointment for that by the end of the day.

Here we go.

Well that's good that they had an online course and that you were able to fill out the paperwork online.

Spent the better part of the week in the hospital with severe palpitations. Had every test known to man' date=' but they can't figure me out. I think its the new med for HBP they were giving me. I'm home now. Still unknowing, still scared. Can't see my doctor until next week. Resting until then.

Linda[/quote']

Oh my gosh you poor thing. I hope you get better and they can find out whats causing the palpitations. Rest and I'm wishing you the best.

Blood pressure is all over the place. I'm so very tired all the time. Ugh.

Linda

That's so not good. It's gotta be the BP meds. I hope you get in with the doc soon.

High blood pressure and prediabetic are conditions that should qualify you along with your BMI

I have always wanted a big family and its nice to have my husbands family. I want to have a good relationship with them, I love their son. I don't get why either that daughter in laws or mother in laws don't get along especially when children are involved. That sucks about her mother, but so wonderful that she has you.

I have seen the Rosetta Stone software at this store on base, I will have to get that after we move. Sorry I have been off this site for awhile, I was really sick and then had a lot going on. Still feeling sick and I have to get another surgery for my back, but I will see about that when we move.

I'm glad you're on good terms with your inlaws. The more the merrier, right?

I was sorry to read that you've been sick. I worried. Stress can really do a number on us. Although it sucks having medical problems on top of it. I hope you're somewhat better now. Remember to breathe. Long deep breaths through the nose and blow it out through your mouth, like you're blowing bubbles. Its great for relaxation.

Hang in there.

Linda

Well then at least your daughter will be happy either way. My husband thinks his different methods like drinking coffee help by giving is a son....lol.... I think it was luck to......lol

Wow you even made your own noodles, very impressive, I wouldn't know where to begin. I'm going to try to make chicken noodle Soup, but in the crock pot when we move. I love the way beef stew taste after sitting in the crock pot over night or throughout the day.

Sounds great! I'm with you about certain things tasting better the next day. Noodles are really easy. I don't have a recipe. lol The crock pot is the most underrated tool in our kitchens. I think people forget they have them.

That's what I'm thinking. I cut my dose in half, and it seems to have helped. I can't shake the fatigued feeling though. Its like I'm walking through Water.

One would think so. Add cholesterol and triglycerides and I think we have a party. The problem is jumping through all the hoops to get it approved.

Right!!! :)

I have my good days and my bad days, but I can't let it stop me. I have so much to do, just gotta keep pushing through the pain. When I have been feeling stressed I try to get outside and walk it helps.

I hope you are feeling better. That's pretty scary how you were feeling. Did you find out any information on getting started with the lap band? Take care and I will be checking in as much as I can.

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

Iʻm roughly 6 weeks post-op this morning and have begun to feel like a normal human, with a normal human body again. I started introducing solid foods and pill forms of medications/supplements a couple of weeks ago and it's really amazing to eat meals with my family again, despite the fact that my portions are so much smaller than theirs.
I live on the island of Oʻahu and spend a lot of time in the water- for exercise, for play,  and for spiritual & mental health. The day I had my month out appointment with my surgeon, I packed all my gear in my truck, anticipating his permission to get back in the ocean. The minute I walked out of that hospital I drove straight to the shore and got in that water. Hallelujah! My appointment was at 10 am. I didn't get home until after 5 pm.
I'm down 31 pounds since the day of surgery and 47 since my pre-op diet began, with that typical week long stall occurring at three weeks. I'm really starting to see some changes lately- some of my clothing is too big, some fits again. The most drastic changes I notice however are in my face. I've also noticed my endurance and flexibility increasing. I was really starting to be held up physically, and I'm so grateful that I'm seeing that turn around in such short order.
My general disposition lately is hopeful and motivated. The only thing that bugs me on a daily basis still is the way those supplements make my house smell. So stink! But I just bought a smell proof bag online that other people use to put their pot in. My house doesn't stink anymore.

Oh yeah, something I wanted to rant about, a billing dispute that cropped up 3 months ago.
Surgery was in August of 2023. A bill shows up for over $7,000 in January. WTF? I asks myself. I know that I jumped through all of the insurance hoops and verified this and triple checked that, as did the surgeon's office. All was set, and I paid all of the known costs before surgery.
A looong story short, is that an assistant surgeon that was in the process of accepting money from my insurance company touched me while I was under anesthesia. That is what the bill was for. But hey, guess what? Some federal legislation was enacted last year to help patients out when they cannot consent to being touched by someone out of their insurance network. These types of bills fall under something called, "surprise billing," and you don't have to put up with it.
      https://www.cms.gov/nosurprises
I had to make a lot of phone calls to both the surgeon's office and the insurance company and explain my rights and what the maximum out of pocket costs were that I could be liable for. Also had to remind them that it isn't my place to be taking care of all of this and that I was going to escalate things if they could not play nice with one another.
Quick ending is that I don't have to pay that $7,000+. Advocate, advocate, advocate for yourself no matter how long it takes and learn more about this law if you are ever hit with a surprise bill.
