I'm not one who responds to a heavy hand. I can take constructive advice, but if it comes at me with a sharp self righteous attitude, I hear nothing but "the tone".

There have been several posts on this site where my initial response is "WTF?". My knee jerk reaction is to slap them silly, because their ignorance is astounding. But in those cases, I don't post. If I'm feeling snarky, and can't give constructive advice WITHOUT a holier than thou attitude, I walk away. That's just not what I'm here for, no matter how I want to tell someone how idiotic they sound. It's difficult sometimes, because some of the posts sound like they're not even in the same lap band game as most of the rest. Again.....I choose to walk away, and participate where there is "health".

Well said!

My family is scared i'llbecome a "skinny b*tch"

But I know i'll do my best to avoid that, especially growing up obese and really struggling

YES - don't EVER forget from where you came. My friend's husband lost a ton of weight, and now works out every day, runs marathons, etc. And it's ALL he talks about! He's got the "do it the right way.....do it my way" attitude. I'm sad to say that its put a wedge between us.

I respectfully disagree, points of view that are based on misinformation and falsehoods are by definition not valid. And before you jump down my freaken throat, I have seen some really stupid (and dangerous) information passed out on this forum as the gospel truth.

Lellow, thank you for your response. My thread was a message for a specific person on this site who's ego has gotten much too big for her britches, as her britches get smaller. Looks "like" message was received.

I'm not sure how any of us were supposed to know that it was passive aggressively directed at one person. Me? I thought you were just being general. In which case, I chimed in with my two cents. Seems a bit redundant now. I hate when that happens. :P

And I reiterate that if this person is making up names and making fun of people behind their backs, I'd wager she was always a bit of a moll, heavy or thin. In which case, people will eventually see through her, and she'll get what's coming.

Sorry Sojourner, you have your facts wrong. I have pasted in the text of the first amendment to help you.

Amendment I

Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances.

This is a private forum and does not fall under the first amendment, Additionally I have seen the owner of this forum (Alex) publicly rebuke a user for handing out false and dangerous advice (And this is his right).

But, if you expect me to stand by while someone tells people to make their band work, they need to do daily enemas with grapefruit juice and black coffee, you are going to to be disappointed.

Well, the real problem was that the poster forgot to mention that you should let the coffee cool down before use, took forever for those stupid blisters to heal

Again snorted coffee out of my nose. Though that's not quite an enema so I don't think it'll help me lose weight.

Sorry TP...I find your attitude in general and this post in particular to be condescending and grandiose.

It should not come as any surprise that I could not care less what you think or believe. You are sort of like strutting about the stage...full of sound and fury and signifying nothing, to paraphrase WS.

While I agree that some members of this forum do have some misinformation that they post, it will always be up to the individual forum participant to sift through the information posted here.

This is an open forum...and others, including you have the right to post what they choose to. Got that? Equality amongst us all.

I believe that we do have free speech here, as long as we are in compliance with the forum rules which we all have agreed to abide by.

As previously stated, it is up to the individual to sift through the information posted and decide on it's relevance and accuracy. People should be self determined to the greatest degree possible.

I regret to inform you that I don't "need help" from anyone, least of all you...and if your self concept is based on a need to "rescue others", you have been living under a rock.

Please consider your audience prior to posting your mindless drivel.

Best wishes...

Wow, still pissed that I pointed out your "Star Wars" quote was wrong. Man, you really hold a grudge!

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
