My counselor with True Results called last night to schedule my pre-op and surgery appointments, only to find out that I had to have the procedure done at a different facility...i.e. - more waiting for red tape to clear - argh!

Anyway, I decided to call the surgeons office and attempt to schedule it on my own. I had the displeasure of speaking with one of the snappiest, rude and unhelpful person ever. I pride myself on being kind and courteous - especially if I don't know you and for this witch to handle me the way she did just a moment ago has me thinking about a different surgeon. I haven't been scheduled yet, I haven't signed anything so I don't HAVE to go through them if I choose not to. If this is the way you treat your patients before you even meet them, I shudder to think how our relationship might be going forward.

It's Friday, I will sleep on this and make a final decision on Monday. I'm sorry, but if someone was about to add $16,000 - $20,000 in revenue to my organization, I'd kiss every inch of their ass. Just my take.

I would definitely think twice about this surgeon- if this is the way they treat you when you haven't had the surgery yet I wonder how they will treat you afterwards.

so would i .... my dr. is a wonderful man.... but his office workers are some of the rudest people. They were all nice in the beginning... but quickly turned after.

but i did get my revenge... in the end.

I had a few warning signs about my surgeon and I chose to disregard them. I regret that completely. I wish I had trusted my intuition and found a different surgeon.

Really sorry to hear you experienced that. I don't understand why people need to be that way, especially when they are working in a helping profession - I mean, even if you are "only" the receptionist, part of the job (you would think) is to make people feel comfortable and reassured. If you decide not to go with that particular surgeon, I think you should let them know that you felt very put off by the person you spoke to - I would guess that might get through to them. Good luck with your decision and have a good weekend!

I too had a bad experience with my initial surgeon! I was a few weeks away from surgery when my friends asked me if that is the kind of office/surgeon I would be comfortable having family go there. That was when I decided to seek another surgeon/practice! So glad I did love the surgeon and staff have been swell! It has made the whole process less stressful! I was banded last week, it took an extra couple months but it was well worth it!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
