So I had my one month post op yesterday and I gained 2 pounds since my last visit..

Now be mindful I had zero in my band to start and he acted like I gained 20lbs through this whole thing including the the 6 month weight monitoring with him I have lost 60lbs. To me that's amazing. I am just 2 weeks post eating the soft food and I ate mostly mashed potatoes. He made me feel like a failure. =(

In the past I use to have anxiety with the scale in the Dr office and now with the way he talked down to me I know I'm going to do the same thing next month. Idk if he was having a bad day or what. But life is emotional roller coaster and a learning curve if my new band. I feel he was very harsh I could understand if I gained 10 plus. Maybe I'm over reacting or maybe he things this will put a fire up my ass and me say haha look..

So now that you have read mine I wanna read yours =)

My dr put 3.5 cc in mine at time of surg. Had it done 12-12-12. I lost everytime I went for a fill. I'm up to 7.5 cc now and ready for another fill. But trust me there r times I practically starve myself so I won't gain. It's not ez always making good food choices but I really try to. I need to keep potatoes and pastas out of my life. I'm a carb junkie. But I'm getting better at not eating them. It's tuff but if we wanna loose we gotta follow the rules or the surg will b a waste of time. I'm still trying to break old habits it just takes time. :)

1) It is totally normal to not lose/or gain weight before you have a fill! It's called "bandster hell"

DON"T beat yourself up for it

2) I don't want to be dissing your surgeon or anything but I think if there is another surgeon in that practice you should see someone else. If he makes you feel uncomfortable you'll never wanna walk back in there again- which is very bad for your bands health!

find another doctor. you must have a supportive heathcare partner, not someone who makes you uncomfortable or feeling like a failure. so many of us on this forum worry about failure, you don't need the doctor accusing you of that. don't forget, he works for you...he gets paid from your insurance carrier. if you weren't happy with anyone else who provides a service to you, you would get rid of them, right? same thing for this guy..

Your doctor was being harsh. If it were me, I would question the doctor next time you go in (maybe the doctor was having a bad day?). There is no reason for you to feel like a failure. Two pounds is nothing really.

Yeah he's an ass. He shoulda taken the time to explain your nutrition better.... Mushy phase should be Protein. Simple that's all he had to say.

Literally my weight goes up and down by five. I'm already down 5 today so hopefully I will have a good weight loss at my weight in and I'll tell him look sorry that way doesn't work for my because I'm a crazy woman lol so fingers crossed. I'm going to follow his diet by a T. And I will start a food journal as of Monday. So If I do gain or not loss enough we can look together. Seeing this is what myself and my insurance company is paying for. I love my doc I think he had a bad day and i need to let him know I didn't appreciate it..

Thanks again guys I love my banded family =)

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
