I weighed myself today and I am in the 100's !!!! I had surgry 1/29/13 and have been working really hard to get there. I stalled for 2 weeks but the scale is moving down again. I am so happy.

Hey that's great news!.... What was your starting weight? I'm asking because I see you just had your surgery the end of January and already on the 100s...I'm suppose to have mine on the 19th of this month and only want to lose about 50-60 lbs. I woke up this morning and told my husband I don't think I can go through it and he encouraged me to go for it. I've fine quite a bit of research and I've been reading a lot of negative outcomes. I know everyone is different, but I'm feeling a bit nervous about it now. I've read you can eat, your in severe pain in shoulder and neck, hair loss, no real wright loss, vomiting, etc....can anyone give me reassurance thats it's REALLY worth doing. Thanks!!....sistercin

Thanks for such a quick response!

You have done great! I'm doing the sugar buster now and leaving Orlando headed home. I did enjoy and ate whatever....until Wednesday. Thursday it ALL began and I've not felt deprived. I've only cut sugar/bread and tomorrow will be my big day to start liquids. If you don't mind please share some of what your liquids consisted of pre/pro op... My desire is to drop 50-60lbs. I've been holding around 209-213...heaviest ever 225...never been small and don't desire to be too small. You were not big from the beginning, but we all have our own personal desires.

I do have a hital hernia and will be repaired at same time. My biggest concern is down time and "stuck"...whatever that really means. But, I can't afford to be our of work for over a week and I stand all day at work(hair stylist), but I'm gonna trust God!

Your story has been quite encouraging and I hope we keep in touch and keep up the good work!!!...sistercin

I am so glad I did this. My starting weight was 239. I lost 14 lbs in the liquid diet 2 weeks before, I didn't cheat once on any of the phases. I started working out at the gym at 3 weeks out and I go about 5-6 days a week. I don't "kill it" at the gym I just do 40-45 of cardio and (treadmill, bike, ellipitical) some weights. I eat 3-4 oz meals 3 times a day and that is all I want. I had my first fill at 8 weeks.

I would highly recommend this and I am 100% glad I did it. I have more energy at 48 than I did at 32.

Good luck to you. And Thanks to everyone for the congrats

The first time you go to the Dr. and they dont have to move the weight on the scale to the 200 mark is one of those moments you go WOW I did it!!!! Im down to 189. Go for my third fill on the 16th. No fill my last appt. because I had lost 8 lbs. I definately would do this all over again. My goal is 150. I feel so much better losing these 40 pounds. I did have the bad gas pains but it goes away. I could not have worked after my surgery. I was lucky to be able to take a week off afterwards.

Good Luck to you its worth every struggle.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
