Recommended Posts

Looking for so,done to tell me what a normal day looks like once you are banded and given clearance for solid food. What do you eat throughout the day? How much? Do you exercise? Thanks!

Breakfast: Omelette

Lunch: Flatbread turkey sandwich

Dinner: Salmon w/salad and maybe some broccoli.

2 Snacks of fruit

Doesn't sound like much but it's all I need and I'm satisfied.

I just eat regular food high Protein half cup meals 3 days and I have a healthy snack with nuts/seeds/fruit at night. I try to find healthy recipes. I eat a lot of ground turkey and Beans. Just have to learn to make good choices. Your doctor will tell you how much to eat and how often. They should also hook you up with a nutritionist. Everyone is different and so is every doctor. Best of luck to you!

Why I failed on previous diets is because I was always hungry. It's painful/uncomfortable to feel like this every day. But, with the band, I don't feel deprived or uncomfortable. It makes my eating choices so much easier now that I don't feel desperate for my next meal.

So, now I eat similar to how I ate before and like Hely, I choose to eat healthy with much better results.

Thank you for all your responses! I'm sure there are other threads on this but all I was finding was I can't eat this and this got stuck etc. I'm getting ready to schedule my consultation and was just getting a little freaked out! I was off and eating a bowl of Cereal and scrambled eggs and starts wondering if these were things I'd still be able to eat

I'm 3 1/2 yrs out and can eat almost anything (cept pancakes, pizza crust and pineapple chunks) - including the taboo items like bread, Pasta, and rice. For breakfast I usually have 1 egg and 1 pc bacon or sausage. lunch is usually 1/2 sandwich (either tuna or chicken salad or turkey). dinner is maybe 1/3 of a chicken breast, baked Beans, broccoli. Snacks are whatever is in the house (sometimes ice cream or a cookie). I eat different foods everyday, so it's hard to speculate what I eat. I go to the gym 3x a week (walk at 3.8mph on the treadmill for 45 minutes and then I do about 20 minutes of the weight machines). I really should bump it up to 4x a week, but my M/W/F schedule is so convenient.

Good luck with your surgery. I wouldn't worry about what you can't eat yet. Most people can tolerate most things, you just have to play around with it to see what you can tolerate. Your first stuck episode on say, a piece of bread will make you not want to eat bread again. Not me tho! I always pushed the rules and tried it again. Like I said above, I can't eat those 3 things - I've tried many, many times to eat pancakes but everytime I'm in the bathroom afterwars. It's just not worth it anymore! I sure miss them tho!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
