Welcome to "Bandland!"

Take it one day at a time... ask lots of questions.

Did you take a before picture and your measurements?

I did the day before pre op and the the day before surgery, going to try every 2 weeks. As of Monday I was down 17lbs and 16 inches.

I feel really good, I just get tires easy. Have stayed in the recliner since being home and was able to shower last night.

I can honesty say the only pain I had was in my left shoulder... from the gas they use... it lasted for 3 days.

No other pain at all.

I used "Magic Bags" you put in the microwave... or you can use a heating pad. They REALLY helped along with walking.

For me.. The grogginess from anesthetic was the worst, I have not had any pain. Getting in and out the recliner has been the only discomfort. And sometimes my incision aches from being stretched.

I was surprised by the pain in the incision area, notably where the port is located. I didn't anticipate that. Stay ahead of it with whatever pain medicine they recommend. They gave me demerol in the hospital, I'm using regular liquid Tylenol at home. Really helps. And rest, walk, rest, walk, rest, walk. Really helps. Good luck!

I did it! Surgery went great no complications and feel good! Woo Hoo I did it!

So happy for you - and us - and all of us! I'm glad this part is over - the anticipation and wondering. Now on to the rest of our lives. We're gonna make it after all - Mary Tyler Moore!

As I recall, from your profile page you have an option to place a ticker. There are many to choose from. You can get to your profile by clicking on your user name upper right corner.

I am trying to figure this out.. I was just banded Tuesday, but I am not getting much down. I feel tight in my stomach and have only had 1 Protein Shake and some water.. My tummy grumbles like its hungry but I am almost convinced its the gas dispersing. Does this sound normal?

I'm getting my liquids in but that's all I'm allowed to have anyway. 2 weeks of clear liquid. I think the swelling from the surgery makes it a little difficult right now. Yes, my tummy grumbles too. Definitely not hungry! Gas bouncing around trying to find an outlet. Have you tried Gas-X strips? I think it helps a little.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
